Positive: The three level apartment was fantastic. The balcony is on the top floor and is perfect for having coffee in the morning and drinks at night. It was well equipped and the owner was more than helpful with info and parking.

Positive: Montemarcello is one of those towns that you love, however you secretly hope that the rest of the world never finds it so you can keep it as your own special retreat. The history of this area began about 150 B.C., its walls were built in the 1,500’s. This is a village rich in history, as seen everywhere when you walk its quaint stone streets. There are several small plazas within its walls. On one of these plaza’s sits “Casa Camilla”. Casa Camilla is a traditional home within the walls of the village, with some modern features. It is built on three levels; you enter on street level through the ancient wood door, then climb the beautiful marble stairs to the living area. The first floor has living/dining space, large bathroom, and its kitchen. The second floor has two bedrooms and the entrance to the patio area that sits above the stone walkway and overlooks the plaza.

Negative: You need to remember that you are staying in a home centuries old in a small village. The stairs are steep, and the bathroom is on a different floor than the bedrooms. You can hear the people walking on the stone streets below, and an occasional cat fight at night may wake you up. If you are a tourist, you will not like it. If you are a traveler, you will soak in every moment of your stay.
