Positive: Location, quaintness of property and seclusion
Negative: The lighting was dark also the heating was inadequate and facilities lacking ,no freezer only a hob mirowave and airfryer which we had never used before so didn't.On arrival we met the hosts who said they were just off on holiday and would give us the phone number of someone we could contact but never did .We had to work out how to use all the appliances as no instructions. We would not recommend it in colder times or for more than 2-3 days .
Summary: We would not recommend it in colder times or for more than 2-3 days .

Positive: Ideally located in a picturesque and quiet village right on the doorstep of the Jurassic Coast and its beautiful surrounding countryside. Carnotze had all the facilities you would need to cook and store food, a two ring induction hob, an air fryer and a microwave cover all the bases for cooking any meal. The property has excellent hot water and a very good shower. Housed in a converted outbuilding with loads of character and is situated on the corner of the garden, it provided enough privacy from the hosts Duncan and Sue who were excellent, friendly and offered loads of local tips and ideas. Owermoigne has a really good farm shop with loads of interesting food and drink.
Negative: The bed is quite small because the bedroom space is small but the mattress was very soft to our liking. Did not sleep very well at all during the week. The TV is too small, we had to bring it forward to be able to see it better. I know that the lighting is in character with the space but it really needs more as it is too dark in the living area. The bed room and bathroom are fine. The space does smell damp but its an old property and it has rained a lot lately.
Summary: A really good stay in a beautiful village in a great location, a really good local farm shop.

Positive: Duncan and Sue were absolutely lovely and helpful when we asked anything. Nellie the dog had us smiling on many occasions. She is a credit to them. The location where we stayed was ideal and close to many places. The bathroom was very modern compared to the rest of the accomodation. We did not feel we needed to lock our door. Albeit small, the TV had access to netflix, prime and other internet channels. Fresh milk and basic drink making items were a lovely touch. The pathway looks very different to the pictures shown. Lots of plants, a tree and vines making it quite separate from the actual main garden making it very private with a sturdy gate separating the area. Parking outside the property very ample. Be mindful the property is on a corner/bend directly by the road so coming out daunting but very little traffic at all so not an issue. The area is beautifully quiet and pretty.
Negative: Sat nav took us not directly to destination. There were no indications it was the accomodation. There was a sign saying carnotze but this was leaning up from the ground, a small sign. Could not see it. Would be better put up somewhere visible. The pictures shown for the accomodation are very outdated. The sofa is different, very warn, low and small. The rug on the sofa smelt very mildew/musky and would be better not to be there at all! No washing machine. Bed creaky and uncomfortable. The pillows were feather and obviously washed but made corners extremely hard and unpleasant. The path was pretty but very overgrown. We appreciate this is a converted barn-like property but on entering, the smell of musty mildew/damp was palpable and due to this made it near impossible for our towels to dry from showering etc. The damp/mildew played havoc with my asthma. Almost everything smelt of this including the plate cupboard. Other reviews mentioned cobwebs. We can understand the high rafters etc but cobwebs were literally everywhere in very easy to clean and see areas. Things were unclean and dusty. There were stains on the tiled floors throughout. There was hair in both the bathroom sink and shower. I'd advise to have slippers or something for your feet due to the tiled floor and warn out rugs and uncleanliness of the floor itself. There were leaflets on places to go. However, so many were out of date, ie 2019 up to 2024. It was such a shame about this accommodation, so much could be done and other than a new sofa (and possibly different bed), not costly. If it was cleaned properly and maybe had plug-ins, febreeze or airing the property when not in use it would be a delight. I feel bad for this honest review as the hosts were super lovely. However, I would not have booked here if I'd have known the issues mentioned. If you can cope with the smell mentioned and some other things then this is the right place for you.
Summary: Lovely hosts but wouldn't stay again

Positive: Comfortable, a short drive to beaches, Durdle Door, and Lulworth Cove, Sue was so very friendly and my dog loved her dog, Nellie. We just had a few nights down from Leicestershire near the coast. Watching Netflix and going on nice beach walks in the vicinity. Owermoigne is a little Hamlet and the only problem was it was very hot the week we went down but that wasn't Sue and Duncan's fault, but it was cool enough in the apartment.
Negative: This isn't a moan just an observation and some advice. Make sure you know where you're going exactly before you set off, as there is no phone signal & no 5G in the village or limited service. I had to speak to a neighbour to make sure I had the right apartment.
Summary: Short Break with my Doggo
