Positive: Lovely old building in a quiet area. Aircon works and the hot water comes through eventually. Only a few restaurants in the area but dinner at the hotel is decent, if expensive.

Negative: Breakfast was expensive and a very poor quality. The staff (with the exception of the night receptionist lady) were unhelpful and surly. We had a problem with our room which we reported early morning but wasn’t fixed. The manager eventually came to look at 9pm and also couldn’t fix it. No apology, no offer of a free drink for compensation, just a shrug and ‘deal with it.’

Positive: Felt like a family run hotel.

Negative: Restaurant was very good, but a bit formal. There were times I would have preferred something simpler, and in the neighborhood, simple meant fried chicken or pizza.
