Summary: Get a room with a view and you will not be disappointed. The Captain's Choice is a comfortable stay in Haines with a fridge and coffee maker in the room, free breakfast and a free shuttle to and from the ferry terminal. They also rent cars so inquire about that if you're staying at the hotel already.

Summary: We were really happy with Captain's Choice, especially after a long day of biking. Great views over the water from the shared patio/deck. Clean rooms. Carpeted hotel floors have grossed me out before but the ones here were clean and well taken care of. Parking in the back lot was a little tight but we found spots for both cars. If I need a room in Haines again this will be my first choice.

Summary: Host was very nice and helpful. He was an all in one person trying to do to many things from front desk to shuttle service. Could really use another person to help with all the tasks. Breakfast was very good self serve. Good variety of foods. Rooms and amenities were nice. Will stay there again next time we get to Haines.
