Negative: As a Canadian traveler exploring South India, staying at Captain’s Camp in Sirsi was one of the best parts of my trip. The stay at Machan was simply amazing – comfortable, peaceful, and perfectly set in the Western Ghats. Capt. Sujay shared so much knowledge about Indian culture, local spices, and the incredible flora and fauna of the Western Ghats. His passion and storytelling made the whole experience feel special and educational. I highly recommend Captain’s Camp to anyone who wants a genuine, nature-rich stay in the region. Absolutely worth it – 5 stars without doubt.

Positive: We had an unforgettable stay at Captain’s Camp, easily the best experience of our entire trip to India. From the moment we arrived, the staff treated us like family: warm, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about making our visit special. The tents are spacious, immaculately clean, and beautifully decorated, and the views of the surrounding wilderness are breathtaking. Every meal was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, showcasing local flavors with care. Guided activities and excursions were well organized and informative, and our guide’s knowledge and passion made every outing memorable. Safety and comfort were clearly priorities, which let us relax and fully enjoy the experience. We highly recommend Captain’s Camp to anyone visiting India. it’s a true gem and a five‑star experience all the way.

Positive: Property is very well maintained and super hygienic. This property is owned and managed by an ex army veteran, that's the reason for the name Captains Camp. Camp is surrounded by Western ghats forest and we were able to spot more than 20 varieties of birds. Machan is an amazing room set up at a height and this overlooks a running stream. Sound of the stream is sooo soothing. Cottage has all facilities inside and wooden finish enhanced the look.
Negative: We were the only ones staying that night in the entire property
Summary: Well maintained property in Sirsi
