Positive: Location is convenient, although it does not have very obvious access to the beach.

Negative: The hygiene and cleanliness of the room was dissapointing. The sheets looked / smelled like they were slept in before. The towels had stains in them, as did the pillow cases / sheets. Bathroom was not clean. Same for the napkins / linen in the restaurant; napkins had fresh stains in them, like they were re-used.

Summary: Neccesary to stay close to Banjul for work, but will not be staying here again.

Positive: The staff were lovely and friendly and the pool area was bright and pleasant. The gardens around the rooms are very nice and the beach is only a short walk away.

Negative: Sadly this hotel wasn't quite our speed. We were travelling with 3 children and took two adjacent studios. Despite having a kitchenette they weren't anywhere you'd want to cook. In fact we had to move rooms as the first two were simply too dirty and stained to feel comfortable in. There was plenty of evidence of sex tourism, I'd say probably the majority of the guests were engaged in some kind of relationship of convenience with the locals which made for a weird vibe around the pool and scenes we didn't really feel were appropriate for our children to witness. The area was full of touts and each time we left the hotel we were followed some distance by people offering their services as guides or fixers. We'd travelled through Senegal to arrive in The Gambia and were trying to avoid places that felt too touristy or that the wealth imbalance was too much of a problem, but sadly we didn't find it here.

Positive: The breakfast was good everyday, all staff were very friendly except for one, Ida one of the room cleaners, she ignored me when I stayed in November and again this visit, which I found unnecessary and uncomfortable. Her cleaning was to the standard of the other guys and I heard she was the owners daughter!! On one occasion she got into the swimming pool fully clothed in her work attire, obviously contaminating the pool after the pool guy had spent a lot of time cleaning it.

Negative: As above.

Summary: Very good apart from one person and I won't be returning to this hotel.

Positive: Comfortable spacious rooms. Lots of lighting. Clean beautiful beach only a two minute walk away. Wonderful pool to swim. A good breakfast available for a minimal price. Good location. Quiet.
