Summary: The lodge was wonderful and we had a beautiful view of the ocean from our room. We also appreciated the laundry facilities. However, when we first arrived, there two very unfriendly (bordering on rude) employees at the front desk. The person on the desk later was much better.

Summary: I stayed at Cape Fox Lodge about 6 or 7 years ago. This lodge was on the level of other premiere lodges in the northwest I love the location the views and the architectural style of the lodge. The room was clean. I was disappointed that the building and rooms are well overdue for a refresh. The menus in both restaurants were not as upscale as they were for my prior visit. The service was not on the same level either. The pictures in the museum had dogeared corners. The tram was broken and looked like it had not operated for a long time. The last time I stayed here the lodge was pristine and on the level of any other high end lodge in the northwest. This lodge is the prime hotel property in Ketchikan. It definitely needs to be and could be again the premier lodge in southeast Alaska. With that said, I would stay at Cape Fox Lodge again when visiting Ketchikan again.
