Positive: The location is incredible - we stayed in a sea-view room looking out over Vathi, one of the most beautiful views you could have from a hotel balcony. The facilities are not super luxurious but very comfortable as a place to rest and recuperate following days of exploring Ithaki, and for the price it's a real steal. Nearby is Kaminia beach which became one of our favourites - it's organised with sunbeds and a bar but still relatively quiet due to its size and being out of the way, and has excellent snorkelling!

Negative: This is more for information if you're considering a stay rather than a complaint for Calypso: you will need a car to get up and down the hill into Vathi, whether driving or by taxi. It's too far up the mountain road to feel safe walking, particularly at night.

Summary: Wonderful place to stay to experience Vathi and Ithaki - get a sea-view room!

Positive: First of all - this place is breathtaking! The view from the room is something that is impossible to reflect in the pictures. It is such magical place that it is there to experience it. And the owners Gerasimos and his wife are the kindest people, I will never forget your help with your own car at the start Gerasimos, thank you very much ♡ Ithaki is a special island that took over our hearts and Calypso apartments is the place you just dont want to leave. Thank you very much for everything.

Positive: Fantastic view over Vathy, with a couple of fantastic beaches a ten minutes drive away.

Negative: With hindsight, we would have stayed a little closer to the sea front. The walk down to the town is quite steep and hard going, especially on a hot day, though a taxi cost 5€ each way. In the description, tea and coffee making facilities available, but you will need to bring your own tea or coffee etc.

Positive: Very spacious,, clean and comfortable. Fantastic views of Vathi. Kitchen basic but had enough utilities for four people. Staff very friendly.

Negative: Beds where low and to soft for me. As I have back issues. But thats a personal preference only.

Positive: The view is outstanding looking over Vathi. It has a good sized balcony and the owner is really lovely and welcoming. Good amount of carparking. It is very much up the top of the hill, so walking down would be fine, getting back up you may require a car or taxi.

Negative: Found the bed too hard for me.
