Positive: Christian and his staff were very accommodating. We were very happy to spend time at the property and felt very welcome. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The property has many citrus trees which result in fresh orange juice each morning. The location was close to Santa Cruz and felt private. At night, we had the window partially open to let in the cool night air and it was very quiet. This was our first time in Chile and it was wonderful! We would stay here again.

Negative: Hot water one morning was unavailable for about 20 min. The following day, there was plenty.

Summary: A wonderful gem with a great host.

Positive: We had a wonderful stay at the Callihue Lodge during our recent visit to Colchagua valley! Our rooms were very comfortable and clean, and the property was beautiful - looking right out over grape vines! They also have several very friendly dogs :) Christian and his mother were definitely the highlight - they were so friendly and accommodating! They had lots of great recs for what to see in town & also got us set up with their friend who organized all our wine tours for us while we were. Being able to speak some Spanish is helpful, but we were able to get by with just one friend who could speak a little and it was totally fine. Breakfast in the morning was breads, cheese, ham, and fruit - lots I think from their property! You could also ask for some other items like sandwiches or pizzas to be made later in the day, but it depends on their availability since it’s just the two of them. There’s other facilities like a pool that is seasonal (in October it wasn’t open because it wasn’t quite warm enough). We were able to pay by credit card at the property after paying a half deposit via PayPal right after we booked. I would definitely recommend this property for anyone visiting the area - it was a great way to be welcomed to Chile!

Positive: Callihue Lodge is a small oasis in the Colchagua Valley. The small lodge has fantastic rooms, a nice pool and a well curated garden and ambiance that makes hanging around the lodge feel like a beach vacation! Mandy and Cristian are awesome, really responsive and kind hosts. It’s like you’re staying at their home, because you actually kind of are! It was a pleasure to chat with Mandy in the mornings at breakfast. Breakfast was exactly what I wanted, though note if you are a picky eater, this isn’t a buffet breakfast.

Negative: Worth noting that the lodge is about 10km south of Santa Cruz, so if you’re going wine tasting, it’s likely a 30 minute drive to any of the vineyards. Dinners were at least 20ish minutes too.
