Negative: The cabin could have done with a few more cooking utensils & wine glasses. I think the £60 cleaning fee is too much & tv was very small to be up on the wall.

Positive: Location was great, the lake is lovely and the park and cafe area associated with it was brilliant. The parkrun that went from the park next door was also ideal. The site itself was very clean and tidy and the staff very helpful. We had an issue with the first cabin we were given but the site manager travelled back to site out of hours and moved us to better accomodation.

Negative: The communication via the booking.com email system meant that the emails received were in very small font, especially on the phone and so I missed the requirement to pay a £500 security deposit a d when called as we were setting off to the site it came as a suprise. I've given bank details to be held and used if there was an issue, but not had to actually pay £500, with the promise of getting it back after the stay before. Needs to be more clear. Couldn't find a bottle opener or a chopping board in the kitchen and there was an overall lack of equipment.

Positive: There is the park nearby. Kids can play outside the door without risk of cars or people complaining as it is a camping site.

Negative: We were in Chalet No5. Not that we a expected a Swiss style luxurious Chalet and comfort and that we are super clean but a spider in every corner, fat leftovers in the pan, ugly stains in the lids and unclean kitchen surfaces and sticky cuttlery is not exactly what we are used to traveling to similar places. Merely one pot, one pan, one sieve is not a lot of material to work with. The round table with its triangle chairs is a challenge for everyone taller or bigger sized. The staff was nice and cleaned a bit after we mentioned it but also just exactly the spots we said and left the rest as is. I think they rely on the customers to clean it all before they leave. Overall, I suggest a full clean with scrubbing after every guest. The sofa is clearly older, one of the steps of the ladder fixed by a wood panel. Supposedly this is going to be remodelled when the main season is over. We might return then but only when this is really done and a cleaning regime is installed.

Summary: It was ok after we cleaned the place to our standard.
