Positive: Perfect location, building and rooms were immaculate - presented to the highest level. Breakfast was fantastic and with generous serving size. The hosts were warm and friendly, but very discreet - how they managed to keep the accommodation so clean and perfectly presented without being seen was magic! Location was ideal to tour Orta and its surroundings, but also was great as a base to explore Maggiore and beyond. An exceptional stay, spoilt only by the week of continuous rain! So we will have to return in the ☀️

Positive: The owners were very welcoming and came to meet us at the train station to give us a lift, which was very kind. Views to the lake were fab, room was spacious and very clean and well appointed. Breakfast was served on the private terrace area and was lovely too with fresh meat/cheese, rolls and pastries served. I would return and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Calathea

Negative: We didn't have a car so had to walk uphill to get to the accommodation, something to think about if less able.
