Positive: Cactus House is situated well away from busy roads in a very quiet and peaceful village location. The host is a delightful man who enjoys sitting and talking about anything and everything - with a little encouragement he will even grab his guitar and treat you some of his songs. The accommodation is simple but very comfortable and includes all you need for self-catering. There was a welcome pack waiting for me on the dining table - a packet of savoury biscuits and a full bottle of delicious home-made wine

Positive: We had a fantastic stay at Cactus House. Peter, our host was so helpful with great communication at all times. The house was really well kitted out with everything you might need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The kitchen was good to use with all essentials and useful pots and pans. There were the basics of salt, pepper, oil and vinegar to use. The air con unit was really excellent, seeing as temperatures were in the late 30s when we came to stay. Such a lovely place to unwind and relax. We explored the villages around, went to the village shop to get things. Friendly locals and great vegetables and local cheeses on offer. Peter is an excellent host and we had some lovely conversations with him. We look forward to staying again and would highly recommend this place to people.

Positive: A perfect location for exploring the Haskovo region Really pretty quiet for Bulgarian villages! An excellent, charismatic and very funny host (Peter) who's extremely quick to respond to requests and also pro-active in asking if you need anything, without being obsequious or intrusive A really neat little apartment with most things you really need Air conditioning a massive bonus Proper cooker and extractor fan! Washing machine! Big corner sofa Lovely shower room Working TV for UK tv and Netflix and more Guitar and singing thrown in (for no charge) A well stocked mini bar (aka fridge) at cost Coffee and various reasons, a few spices, oil, essentials already there Birds chirping in the roof space was very cute (a workman left the extractor grill off so he was unfortunately stuck with them but they go to bed about 10.30) I'm sure if you let Peter know in advance of specific needs he'll help accommodate them or let you know where you can go to get them Work will be underway on the corridor area soon to create a better space for guests (his poor workman has been sick, but now recovered) It was certainly the best place we stayed in the villages
Negative: Village apartments are difficult to find - I liked everything about the apartment and Peter is just the best host I've written to him separately with our suggestions for improvement. None of them are big issues With a few tweaks this will soon be a 10 out of 10! Well done Peter, this definitely sets a standard for others to follow.

Positive: We had a wonderful stay at the Cactus house, the apartment was new and spacious, warm with a fully kitted kitchen, the bed was very comfortable and we had a good sleep in this beautiful tranquil village. It truly brought me back in my happy childhood memories spending time with my grandma in a village like this one. Peter was an exceptional host, on arrival he welcomed us with a complimentary bottle of his own red wine, mineral water and loads of other free goodies to munch - after the long day we've had this was exactly what we needed. He even thought about our dog and got some treats for him as well. And we had a lovely chat with Peter who could tell you so many interesting stories. Also, the bathroom had a nice large shower head which was great. We had a stroll throughout the village with our dog and it was just peacefully quiet, just what we needed. Thank you Peter for your excellent hospitality and your lovely place!😊

Positive: The location was great, nice area. Hospitality from the host Peter, was top notch, he served us wine and made us dinner. The apartment was clean, and the sheets and blankets were fresh. Washing machine and fridge available for use. A place to recommend.
