Buttermilk Lodge offers self-catering apartments 5 minutes' walk from Clifden town center, you can just park your car and easily walk to town. There are 3 apartments with private external entrance - 2 x one-bedroom on the ground floor and 1 x two-bedroom self-catering apartment on the first floor, upstairs and 3 further apartments located in the main building, entered by the main entrance - 2 x one bedroom and one x 2 bedroom, these are located on the first floor -upstairs. Apartments are self-catering (no meals included) and have separate entrances, comfortable living areas with TV and electric fireplace. Each bedroom has a private shower room with personal toiletries, towels etc. All bedrooms have good storage, excellent beds - fully dressed, tv, hairdryer etc. The fully equipped kitchens have cookers, microwave, dolce gusto coffee machine, all utensils etc and washer-dryers. On arrival you will find tea/coffee, fresh milk, juice, cereals, condiments and homemade brown bread and cake. There is excellent complimentary Wi-Fi and private parking. Patrick and Cathriona breed Connemara Ponies and Sheep on their farm which is located a few miles from the house, guests are welcome to visit during their stay and can meet our dogs Milo, Robbie and Ben if they wish.

Positive: Great location, easily accessible to Clifden city centre. And the amazing cakes made by the owners.

Negative: The fireplace which we were under the assumption is a real fireplace but wasn't according to the pictures listed. Would have been good to have a few board games at the property too.

Positive: Great location for driving the coast, short walk into town, home from home, everything is provided in apartment. I liked the welcome pack of milk,water,orange juice and homemade bread and fruit cake, both delicious. Easy communication with owners, both pleasant and helpful.

Negative: The bed was a little hard for us but that’s personal preference

Positive: We had an apartment with a separate sitting room for lounging and great kitchen. There was a great array of kitchen utensils, pans, electric pots. We loved the fact that there was a clothes washer/dryer combo. Refrigerator and stovetop, microwaves were very nice There was an electric fireplace that gave us some ambience and heated the room to take the chill off.

Negative: Heat and towel warmers did not turn on very often and were short duration. We prefer units without stairs- ours had stairs.

Summary: A great value and nice place to stay. Parking is private and safe as it is off the street.

Positive: It is self catering. But the lady of the house had beautful brown bread and another one that my husband went mad for left for us. There is nothing that she has left out. Bed was big and comfortable. Will def be back.

Positive: This place was FABULOUS. The bed was so comfortable and the kitchen well equipped and everything was super clean. It is stylishly decorated with plenty of room for two people. But it was the extra touches that made this place so special. Basic supplies like breakfast cereal, milk, juice etc are supplied as well as freshly baked treats for each day.
