Positive: Being met by the owner on arrival. Very easu access to the room we had. Car parking on site at no cost. A lovely country view from our room. Very peacfull and quiet location but easy to get to from the main road. Now the very best part. We ordered breakfast on arrival for the next day and were informed that it would be served in our room within the breakfast time slot and picked a set time. In the room is a small table and chairs right by the window with a great view. The next morning the owner brought breakfast on a lovely trolley and we sat and had breakfast in peace and quiet. The breakfast was lovely certainly enough to start the day well. By the way an evening meal is available also served in the room but must be ordered the day before arrival, they send you a menu at time of booking for breakfast and dinner. Good selection. The room is very nicely decorated, very clean and a good size. The bed was very comfortable, bathroom very nice. We have already planned another visit next year !!! The owner is very nice and makes you feel at home right away

Negative: There is nothing about this property that we did not like. We were sad we had only planned a one night stay

Positive: The owner Kacey was exceptional, extremely accommodating. Our evening meal was exceptional as was the most amazing breakfast. The room was very tastefully decorated, all very eco friendly.

Negative: Only that there was not a great deal of outside space, but location was brilliant for the ferry to orkney.

Summary: Extremely good experience, I would certainly recommend.

Positive: Our stay at Burnside Cottage was amazing. Kacey was the perfect host, welcoming us when we arrived. The bed was comfortable and the shower great. In fact, the room was very well designed. We had everything we needed, including some really lovely organic soap and lots of hooks in the bathroom. Especially important for us, there was a fridge in the room. A lot of thought has gone in to making sure guests are comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were outstanding, the best food we had been served so far in our trip. I would not hesitate to book again if we get the opportunity to return.

Summary: Great hosts, great room, outstanding food makes for a great stay.

Positive: We loved our brief stay at Burnside cottage. Close to the ferry at Gills Bay for the next morning. Kacey was so welcoming & the food amongst the best we sampled throughout our stay in Scotland! Even when my daughter left her favourite toy behind, Kacey posted it on to us! Thoughtful & great customer service.

Positive: Kacey could not be a more accommodating host. She also prepared great meals for dinner and breakfast and was able to accommodate all special dietary request for our group. To top it off her entire facility is extremely eco conscious. I would highly recommend the Burnside Cottage.

Negative: Nothing.

Summary: A hidden gem on the Northeast Coast of Scotland - plus Kacey's husband has some amazing photography.
