Positive: I booked this as a surprise for my partners birthday. The staff were lovely and we had a warm and helpful welcome upon our late arrival. Check in was quick and simple and staff gave us great direction on how to get to our rooms and provided good information on the facilities. We were able to eat at the restaurant 2 evenings, we booked with short notice and staff were accommodating of us. If you want to sit somewhere specific, I would book in advance. The wait staff were great and we were served quickly, the food was great on all our meals and they even brought out a birthday desert and sand for my partner. This was a highly appreciated detail and made our stay extra special. The room was lovely, full of character and charm, the bed was so comfy and could have sleeted in forever! There was a heater in the room, Tv and hairdryer. We were very envious of the bathroom, every detail though of. We loved the English cooked and continental breakfast and the coffee machine did a good and hot coffee. Wait staff always happy and helpful. Breakfast served till 10am. We also used the leisure facilities, they were clean and modern. A smaller pool but good for relaxing in with the steam room and sauna. Changing rooms were lovley and had lockers. Surprised at the long opening hours of the pool, closed at 10pm. Checkout was 11am quick and easy, and there was a lot of things to do around the hotel. Would 100% come back.

Negative: Our room didn’t receive a service on our two night stay. Our door didn’t close properly and was left open by the staff who had not realised it wasn’t shut.

Positive: Sraff very pleasant and extremely helpful. Offered to change room allocation to avoid my wife having to negotiate stairs.

Negative: Booking for restaurant difficult. Couldn't do it on line. Receptionist agreed to squeeze us in at 1830, but from then until we left at about 2015 the room was never full. First table next to window had a cold draught so they agreed to move us. Had to wait an hour for the food to arrive. At breakfast we're seated next to a window that was part open so sat in a cold draught again ( this is in December!)

Positive: A beautiful hotel with a lovely spa. The breakfast was the best we've had anywhere and the staff were wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble, and when we had a problem in our room and we were moved straight away. The bed was really comfortable and the shower was great.

Negative: It would be helpful to know that you need to collect a towel from reception for the spa before you have gone in. Either a sign on reception or at the top of the stairs before you go down to the lower level would work.

Positive: Loved the hotel. Stayed here on our wedding night back in July and a gorgeous room, comfy beds, great facilities and fab service so we decided to come back for my husbands birthday.

Negative: Only complaints are the bar staff on both our stays weren’t the most smiley or friendly and service is quite slow. Front of house are amazing, very smiley and helpful. Also on our wedding night (July) the jacuzzi wasn’t working in the spa and then again this time it was still not working at the end of November. We still had a fab stay though and would go back
