Positive: Location in the Defence Colony with its gorgeous big old Bodhi Tree just outside is perfect.. the Defence Colony shops are great - from worldwide cheese to organic Ayurvedic face wash and every fruit and veg you could wish for.. felt safe walking at night.. its my favourite part of Delhi. The apartment was lovely and spacious. - glad there was a lift for luggage! - the lounge so restful - although I guess if the other 2 bedroom occupants (3 separately rented bedrooms per floor) were noisy it wouldn't be so enjoyable - so its your good fortune or otherwise as to how that shared lounge, dining area and kitchen are. It was all idyllic when I was there. Bedroom big and comfy bed. I found having a washing machine a real treat whilst travelling. Whole place tastefully furnished.

Negative: I'm matching the levels of care to a top rate hotel given the comparable price.. so.. in that case: Cleaning not quite up to scratch, shower grouting, undercover bed sheet, old toilet brush (I went and bought them a new one - £2.50 at the local shop).. given how lovely the place is, it wouldn't take much for the owners to have a quick check every week or two (they aren't far away) to make sure it stays tip top.. probably little maintenance touches the regular cleaning staff don't have on their rota. Could do with a few extras in the kitchen - scissors, bottle opener, - but it hardly matters.. however given the price, those 'extras' help. although clearly a lot of guests don't use the kitchen much if at all.

Summary: Have already recommended and would definitely stay again. Loved it.

Positive: The property is set up like an apartment. Each floor has 3 locked rooms sharing an open planned kitchenette, dining area and lounge. Facilities to use include a washing machine, fridge, microwave oven + basic crockery & cutlery. We were travelling with another couple so it was very convenient that we were able to access the communal area. The other room had a single guy who was a long term resident who travelled for work. Cool air conditioned retreat from the heat and humidity.

Negative: Our rooms (and of course the communal area) was on the ground floor. The entrance door to the communal area was not locked. Therefore staff used this communal area freely eg. to wash towels in the machine. There was no real privacy in the communal area … we thought the communal area should be for guests only (not for staff use). The prices of all the rooms are the same. However the room sizes and location of all 3 rooms are different. We had a lovely room … very large and overlooked green foliage. Our friends (who paid the same room rate) were allocated a much smaller room overlooking a building site. They had to keep the curtains closed as families of the workers live on the building site.
