Positive: This place was exactly what we were looking for. On one hand – the rooms were modern, spacious, convenient and clean. The beds were very wide and comfortable, the shower was good. Good Wi-Fi connection and a TV. There were excellent closets and a lot of space. But with all this, it was still a homestay – not disconnected from the environment. We were lucky that the hosting family was there (that might not always be the case, since they have another house and homestay which is not in Palampur) and they are exceptionally nice and warm. The operating host is Aadi. He and his father speak excellent English and have a lot of knowledge, so it was interesting to talk to them and learn from them. They have a little garden (not for sitting) where they lovingly grow fruit trees, and where the most amazing butterflies kept showing up. There is also a Nepali lady named Sapna working in the house. She hardly speaks English, but she has the biggest smile and a lot of good will, and that’s enough for connecting and communicating 😊 The house is located in a quiet residential street with nice houses, a short walk from a busy street (busy streets in India are interesting!) and a long walk from the market. We had two double rooms which were connected by a spacious sitting porch, overlooking the quiet street.
