Positive: The bed was comfortable to some extent

Negative: The breakfast options were not clear, I arrived at the reception ready to pay for Breakfast, I was handed a hard boiled egg still in its shell, raw bread and some spreads - it wasn't made clear that I could use any communal services to go and toast my bread - I went on a whim as I passed a door labelled "Kitchen" Would have been useful if I was shown or given the explanation that this is where I would make breakfast. The entertainment (TV) was absolutely useless, didn't function, none of the channels worked, the WiFi stopped working after about 30min - I ended up wasting my data allowance to be able to watch 'something' to keep my self entertained. I didn't have a number to call for support or rectify this. The receptionist was not helpful. When shown to my room she had disappeared through the many doors I had to use to access my room, didn't wait for me and practically waited for me to find my way until I caught up to show my room. Absolutely dreadful service.

Summary: Don't expect any 'normal' or 'actual customer service' - WiFi does not work, tv's are non functi

Positive: Cosy, convenient spot to stay. We were in London for Star Wars Celebration, and getting to and from the Excel was easy (quick 20 minute journey on the Elizabeth Line & DLR, all overground too if you aren't a fan of the underground). Breakfast was a simple help yourself buffet arrangement and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was large, acceptably clean and exactly what we needed. The beds were also very comfortable, and extra blankets were left in the room which was very much appreciated. Overall a lovely little place!

Negative: Some hooks on doors and similar things were broken or missing, particularly in the bathroom. This did not cause any issues for our stay but weren't particularly nice to look at. The TV remote was also missing its power button, which meant it had to be turned off/on at the wall socket. Just small things.
