Melbourne House, Calke Abbey (NT), Tamworth Snodome, Snibston Discovery Centre, Donnington Park, Twycross Zoo and Drayton Manor are within 15 miles, Alton Towers is 25 miles. Golf, fishing, forest walks and cycle trails are all easily accessible.

Summary: Let's start with the positives beautiful location. Hot tub was appreciated although different from the picture. The main bedroom mattress is very uncomfortable. The main downfall of staying here is the house needs a good air it needs a thorough clean and so many things need fixing. We were charged £250 deposit on arrival for damages, but door cupboards are hanging off their hinges, and there are holes in kitchen cupboard floors. Staff very helpful and friendly. Size of property was great.

Summary: Lovely little cottage you have to watch your head on some off the doorways if your 6ft like me  nice and spacious with big garden and a great hot tub cottage was old and quirky just what we was expecting very clean lovely location very quiet would recommend for a nice place to go and chill out Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Summary: The bridge house was a very unexpected upgrade to the accommodation I had booked originally.. after turning up where I was supposed to be staying to be told my cabin was unavailable the wonderful staff at hoeseasons relocated us to this hidden gem of a cottage.. the staff were fab as we confirmed our booking @ 4.30 & arrived at 5.15 the place was spotless heating was on milk coffee and tea supplies were waiting.. overall it’s a very well equipped place ... it’s close to a coop & we went to Drayton manor for the day during our stay as it’s only half hour away .. free WiFi (good WiFi that actually works ) the only thing we missed was some games to play but we nipped to a charity shop and bought a couple .. kids enjoyed the nice big garden and I loved the hot tub ... thanks bridge house for a truly relaxing stay .... just to add the cabins on site look beautiful x 10 out of 10

Summary: Excellent property - close to other lodges but, due to landscaping, foliage and aspect, felt secluded and private. One small negative was the hot tub - the jets lacked power and there was no surrounding or deck lighting for night time usage. The house was exceptionally clean and garden well-kept. The proprietor was a pleasure to deal with.

Summary: We secured Bridge House as a last minute deal. The only other review on this site seemed to rate the property 1/10 despite the person not staying at the property (I understand the frustration but I didn’t think this was particularly fair to rate the property so low if they had no experience of it). Upon arrival we were surprised to find this cottage sits at the front of a small site housing approximately 12 log cabins. The site is appealing as one enters it. It is approximately 200m away from a reasonable children’s play area, basketball court and football pitches. On site there are spa facilities which we hadn’t prices for, but based on the lack of availability my wife was unable to experience this service. The site is quiet, and we found Ian, the on-site warden, friendly and understanding of a few niggles. The property itself was clean, and well supplied, with some essentials such as tea bags, milk and washing up liquid provided. The hot tub was a very welcome addition, and there is a fair sized garden to enjoy a summer’s evening. We opted for a stair gate, which wasn’t present upon arrival. A stair gate is needed for young children as the only bathrooms are on the split level of ground level, so young children who sleep walk may fall easily (as our youngest highlighted. I did offer to go and buy one and it was put in place by Ian, with a refund given. The master bedroom mattress is arguably the hardest and most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept on. It really needs to be changed! Overall we enjoyed our experience and would return to the cottage again.
