Positive: Welcome pack was a lovely touch, beds were so comfy and it was clean. Nice DVD library but couldn’t find normal TV channels…made do with Netflix and iPlayer so all good. Will definitely visit again if we are up that way. Dog also loved it!

Negative: Nothing.

Summary: Perfect for what we needed. R&R for mother & son who live at opposite ends of country!

Positive: A lovely welcome pack awaited us. A big bowl of fruit, prosecco and fresh cut flowers. There was milk in the fridge and coffee. The lane is very pretty in both directions from the barn, with 16th century buildings including a small chapel. The vineyards are pretty to look at and it was nice to watch the chickens wandering around. Beds were comfortable and the shower / wet room was nice.

Negative: The area near the parking spot was very untidy with some building work going on. Would have been nice to have been warned about this. Outdoor seating around the back was a little confined and at the time we visited there was no afternoon/evening sun, so sitting out wasn't an option.

Summary: Lovely for a weekend break.

Positive: The property itself was clean & comfortable with good facilities provided & a thoughtful welcome hamper on arrival which was a nice surprise. The location, although a little off the beaten track, was fine as it was only a short drive to the centre of Mansfield. We could park our vehicles & we felt safe there. We were warm had everything we needed for a weeks stay.

Negative: The main issue we had was a very loud & vocal cockerel who made its presence know anytime between 1am & 7am. We weren’t told there was one on site, which would have been good to know, as it was a working trip & it did make sleeping difficult. Added to this, there were high winds during our stay on a couple of nights & the guttering vibrated against the side of the building with gusto, again, making sleep quite difficult.

Summary: Lovely place but beware the vocal cockerel!

Positive: Comfortable beds and sofa, tv in main bedroom, good sized kitchen and living space. Property was clean. Welcome pack. Lots of books and DVDs. Good sized tv in main living area with DVD player and set top box. Plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, washing machine and tumble dryer. Outside eating area not overlooked . Beautiful views of open fields in the rear of the property. Very quiet and peaceful, not far from walks, and a short drive away from shops. Owners on site but not intrusive in any way.

Negative: Appliances a little tricky to operate, cooker switches in a cupboard so were difficult to find, no handwash in bathroom, very little toilet roll. Tv remote in main living area needs replacing as it was very difficult to change input to change between dvd player and set top box. Opening and closing the main gate is a bit of a chore especially in the dark or when it’s raining. Kitchen floor squeaks.

Positive: It was a lovely place. Very cosy and relaxing. Loved everything just a few things could be sorted. The bathroom and shower were lovely my little boy absolutely loved the shower. Under floor heating was very nice. The Garden was small but the view was amazing. Love the nice touch of the bird feeds. Very beautiful countryside.

Negative: The Floor in the kitchen was so creaky it was really starting to annoy me. Under sofa and beds needed a clean. The microwave just wouldn't work properly. The dishwasher was sticking out. The beds weren't very comfortable. Just need a few things sorted out
