Positive: Great location, only 3 minute walk to the Cheese Market and located on the ground floor along a canal with a drawbridge. The apartment was fantastic, great bed, nice bathroom and fully functional kitchen (although we did not cook, as lots of restaurants in walking distance). We loved the decor and finishes, and very well maintained. The underfloor heating was great. When we come back to Alkmaar we definitely stay at VO38 again, as it is perfect for a couple for a stay in Alkmaar.
Negative: There was nothing we did not like

Positive: Unique location downtown the historic city of Alkmaar. The host handed to keys to us (he lives next door) and was super nice and helpful! The studio is complete with a nice kitchen, but why cook if you are close to dozen of restaurants a great walk from studio. We were there during the Kings night and Kings day when thousands of people are partying and celebrating the kings birthday. Great vibe! But it can be noisy that night - the rest of the 364 days in a year, the noise should be very limited (especial when the front door is adjusted so less noise will seep in).
Summary: Unique location downtown historic Alkmaar. Very nice studio managed by a super nice host.

Positive: Even before we arrived communication was warm and helpful, this continued as we were met at the apartment to collect the keys, such a friendly welcome. This cosy, ground floor apartment is situated within a mile of the railway station, right on a canal for an authentic feel and very Dutch outlook! We loved feeling that the picturesque city was right on our doorstep. Alkmaar offers many places to eat and drink along with inviting streets to wander. Inside Eveline seems to have thought of everything and the use of space, decor and facilities are of good quality which makes it a comfortable place to be and feel at home. The hosts are perfect, combining support and well judged suggestions for places to go and things to do with non intrusive presence.
Negative: Nothing, we would love to return one day.
Summary: A Warm Welcome and a Perfect Start to a Dutch Holiday.
