Positive: We booked in for a 1 night stay because of it's close proximity to Southampton docks, as we were booked on a cruise the following day. It's location and surroundings were ideal for us and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Definitely one I would consider using again.

Negative: Breakfast was a little chaotic, but this was due to a large marriage retreat group booked in at the same time. It would also have been nice to have had bar snacks rather than having to book a full restaurant meal as we ended up driving to a local pub for an evening meal.

Positive: Good quality hotel, nice friendly staff, wonderful grounds. Comfortable bed, good shower, very clean, excellent breakfast. Nice location, well maintained inside and out, good price. Decor is superb, all carpets appear to be new, chandeliers are beautiful, and the main thing was the comfortable chairs in the bar and lounge areas.

Negative: Can't think of any negatives.

Positive: Good value for money, the sauna, pool and steam room were good additions to have included in the price. Staff were very friendly. The hotel was calming and had lots of areas to sit and eat, we bought a takeaway pizza and staff allowed us to eat in the bar area.

Negative: Breakfast was a little steep at £20 a head. I had scrambled eggs on toast, however the toast was forgotten so I toasted some bread myself, and the egg was burnt so it wasn’t too enjoyable. We weren’t informed of a private party despite phoning a few days prior to check opening times, so the spa facilites weren’t available until 5pm, as it was a Sunday they close the spa at 6pm so we only had an hour - bit disappointing as we checked in on time to use these, however it wasn’t busy during that hour so we were able to use these facilities with ease.

Negative: The bathroom was very dated and wasnt exactly clean with spots of mould on the shower curtain, overall the whole room needed re-vamping and cleaning.
