Positive: The setting is in beautiful gardens which were far more extensive than we ever imagined, and we were given permission to roam freely and explore. The view across the estuary was memorable, and most attractive in the afternoon and evening when the sun really lit up the toll bridge and adjacent hostelry.
Negative: I thought it was about 3½ to 4 miles to Barmouth but it was nearer to 6, but that was my error reading a map, not misinformation, and it made no difference as we would have used the car anyway.
Summary: Beautiful, welcoming, relaxing.
