Positive: Great location, big parking and metro station nearby. Friendly staff. Flexible check in and checkout times.

Negative: Some equipment starts to show its age, especially in the bath/shower area. Most international TV channels didn’t work. TV doesn’t have smart functions like cast, Netflix, YouTube etc.

Summary: Overall a great value for money.

Positive: We had an enjoyable stay at the Marriot, Bonn. Our room was clean and stylish with a view of the Rhine. The staff was helpful and efficient. The downstairs fitness area and swimming pool were both well-equipped.

Negative: If you would like to eat in the Sky Bar, booking in advance seems necessary. Unfortunately, we did not manage to do so and were slightly disappointed. The only complaint I would make concerns the bathroom; the “man-machine interface” of the hot/cold shower/bath system was extremely irritating. For people with poor eyesight, I would have thought it was absolutely impossible for them to identify the different icons on the very small shiny stainless steel buttons. I needed about 15 minutes to decipher the system, which obviously meant a lot of water was wasted. Another issue was the price of breakfast. Even though there was a slightly cheaper alternative at the hotel itself (not online), for those who do not want a large breakfast , 27.00€ is just too expensive. We went for a walk to the nearby Museumsmeile instead.

Summary: We would visit the hotel again, but without using their car park and breakfast facilities.

Positive: Lovely gym - relatively good breakfast good wifi

Negative: There is literally nothing happening around the hotel for miles - so if you are not there for work in the UN compound it’s deeply boring. Very limited dining options. You can sit in the lobby or the rooftop pub if you don’t want a full on fine dining meal and there the food compromises of a burger, pasta or salad. So ended up ordering room service. The only English Channel on TV is Bloomberg. Variable room cleaning and very soft mattresses. If the rest of Bonn is as boring as the area where this hotel is situated then it’s not a fun place.
