Positive: To begin, the location is breathtakingly beautiful. Right out of the front door are emerald fields of tea in every direction. You can fall asleep on the tatami floor at night while looking out the window and up at the stars. You may see pheasants, great white egrets, blue herons and every sort of butterfly while walking from Blodge Lodge into town, so if you enjoy nature, you will love it. The property was incredibly clean, cozy and comfortable. There is a self-filling bath where you can set the temperature, so it's nice to relax in at the end of the day. The hosts are incredibly kind and give off such a wonderful energy, we had a fantastic time talking with them. There was an "all you can drink" tea section in the dining room, so we had fun experimenting with making different kinds of tea while we were there. We also chose to add on daily breakfasts and a tea tour, which were definitely highlights of the trip! Ikuko's homemade breakfasts were amazing! They were delicious and healthy, and it was fun chatting with her while she prepared the meals. She also made a different kind of tea each day! Michael's tour was both fun and magical - We did a tea tasting with the farmer after harvesting some new leaves, visited a tea museum where we had a beautifully presented and tasty lunch, and enjoyed our time just hanging out. I highly recommend both the breakfast and the tour! And if you're fortunate enough to be there when the hosts are running their weekly pizza shop, it's definitely worth it to stop by for a slice. They even picked us up and dropped us off at the bus station (which was wonderful, considering we had all our luggage with us). Thank-you Ikuko & Michael, we had such a great time and will always remember it!

Positive: Ikuko and Michael's place was sparkling clean, spacious and comfortable! They have a wonderful tea corner with a generous selection of teas, teapots and cups for guests to use. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, as well as the tour Michael gave (which included lunch at one of his favorite local restaurants—it was absolutely delicious!). They went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable and comfortable. I’m already looking forward to coming back!

Positive: My stay at Blodge Lodge in Wazuka Town was truly incredible. The town itself is something special - beautiful, unique, with breathtaking landscapes and such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The people are genuinely friendly, which made the whole experience feel even more meaningful. Michael, the host, was exceptionally accommodating. From the very beginning, communication was top-notch - clear, consistent, and thoughtful. He picked me up, gave me a little tour of the town, and made sure I felt comfortable every step of the way. The house itself is beautifully located - stylish, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed with everything you might need. The terrace was perfect for enjoying a quiet cup of tea in the morning or watching the sunset in the evening. Getting around was easy, and everything felt seamless. This stay has been one of the highlights of my time in Japan so far. I felt completely at home here and would absolutely love to come back.
