Positive: The location was ideal. The breakfast was lovely, a lot of choice.

Negative: The bed was 2 single beds pushed together, so a gap in the middle. We asked if we could check in early (didn’t need to go in the room) as we were at a wedding at another location in Darlington, and didn’t want to have to check in and take luggage up early hours in the morning, only to be told we would have to pay £20 an hour extra for the early check in. Found it quite hard to believe that the room wouldn’t of been ready as the cleaners are in the corridors and cleaning rooms out early on the morning as we heard them and seen them when we went for breakfast the next day.

Summary: Nice for location, but they don’t that extra mile for you like other hotels do.

Positive: This was a one night stay as i was going to a funeral in Darlington early in morning. This was a perfect location. Cannot fault it. Could easily have stayed longer. The breakfast especially was out of this world. Everything was on offer. Brilliant stay.

Positive: The room was well-appointed, quiet and had a nice view on to parkland. The food was excellent and the choice at breakfast was extensive. The public areas of the hotel are very attractive and the staff are friendly. The swimming pool was also excellent.

Negative: The bed was quite hard and the radiators in the room did not work. It was disappointing that the seating area where Bar meals could be eaten amounted to a draughty and noisy corridor.

Summary: Comfortable and well-appointed accommodation and excellent food.
