Positive: The view from our room was breathtaking. The dinner buffet was very very veryy good. And the onsen was also very enjoyable. I really recommend this place if you want to relax in Japan, away from the super touristy crowds, and relax in a peaceful staycation.

Negative: Getting there requires driving, but the trip was definitely worth it. Though I believe they may have shuttle service?

Positive: Stand alone hotel on top of a hill overlooking Tokushima city. No traffic, it is a kind of nature reserve. I had a huge tatami room with panoramic windows. Very nice public bath. The room did have a private bathroom but no shower - Ryokan style.

Positive: The views from this hotel are amazing, and worth the drive up the mountain to stay here. It's only about 2km up. It's about 15 min into town if you drive. . And hundreds of birds fly around at sunset!

Negative: You'd definitely need a car (or taxi's) to stay here. Unless you catch the cable car up and down and don't mind a bit of a walk! The views are worth it though.
