Positive: Lovely quirky old fashioned cottage. Was a great secluded location with ample land for the kids to run wild. Well priced. Very friendly nice hosts.

Negative: Was abit claustrophobic for us with 3 energetic kids. Bedrooms ceilings were abit low and rooms a tad tight for us again making us feel claustrophobic. Also tv was pretty small making it difficult to watch. Lighting was abit low. Also the flies and insects are a major issue if you have a phobia to them. This is purely based on a family experience but the location and experience of a barn conversion was nice and price was very good. Host were very nice and friendly

Positive: Had a lovely break in this converted barn. The location is fabulous and very rural with lots of wildlife running through the garden. It is a converted ban with many original features and has been converted in a very rustic style rather than being gentrified. Due to the rural setting there will be inevitable cobwebs, but on the whole the cottage was lovely and clean. We were welcomed warmly to the cottage by the owners Sharna and Steven and they made us very comfortable. There was a problem with the boiler with some leaking oil after it had been filled up recently and they arranged for a plumber to arrive first thing the following morning to fix it. I wanted to stay in a location that felt a bit like camping without the hassle of bringing tents and equipment, and this cottage was as close to being in The Great Outdoors without being in a tent. The garden is fabulous and very private with the odd visit from hares, squirrels, grouse and various birds. It is a beautiful, quiet location with a walk down to the river. The garden was glorious and full of flowers and a pleasure to sit in. There is lots of room for you to enjoy. The honeysuckle and climbing roses were in full bloom and you could watch the birds in these bushes just the other side of the bedroom window a few inches away. The kitchen is well equipped. I would be happy to return to this location but would bring insect repellent next time as I got bitten to death 🙂

Negative: The bedrooms are narrow and it is only just possible to get to both sides of the double bed. The door in the double bedroom doesn't open fully as there isn't room. The bed was reasonably comfortable (but I am used to a memory foam mattress). The downstairs shower tray is looking a bit tatty but was nice and clean. I would suggest more cutlery and glasses to save having to put the dishwasher on (of course you can wash up... But you're on holiday right 😁

Positive: The cottage is in a great location, surrounded by nature and close to a river. It's perfect for a quick getaway and to recharge. Owners are very helpful and were available when needed.The cottage had everything we needed, including board games, which was great because it rained all weekend.

Negative: Although everything else was just perfect, the shower pressure could use some improvement.
