Summary: This property is totally unassuming from the front, but hidden behind that door is a wonderful house in the woods ; the river visible from 3 rooms, bluebells in profusion, 6 deer wandered by to say good morning the first day and a botanist's delight. Kitchen is well equiped and there are updated bathrooms. The host was very accessible and helpful. While one could easily just nest in for the duration, the national park is within 35 minutes and a nice state park perhaps 10-15 minutes away. I would definitely visit again

Summary: When I learned we'd have to move out of our home for water damage repairs, I was dreading the thought of cramming my family into a hotel room. Then, it occurred to me to look for short term rentals and found this gem! Only 35m from our home, making taking my son to and from school manageable, and enough from for our family so we could all have some private space. As a bonus, we were right next to the river. The ordeal was more an adventure. The home is comfortable and tastefully decorated, with amazing views, and we had everything we needed to settle right in. I loved grilling on the deck off the living room, looking out at the river, and had the best naps in the big, cozy master bedroom chair. Best of all was the quality family time, playing games and watching movies in the family room and exploring the river bank. We made so many wonderful memories. I can't thank the owners enough for their hospitality.

Summary: We had a fantastic 2023 Thanksgiving week at River House! Thank you so much Jennifer and Jeff for sharing this property with us!! It's a great house in a truly beautiful setting. The location allowed every member of our family - working parents and two college students to decompress from the hectic everyday pace of our normal lives and enjoy a peaceful week together in the wooded hills of Shenandoah. We had a great week and a quiet, restful setting. We cannot thank you enough for letting us use this property for the week. The Collins family.

Summary: Fantastic home in a lovely wooded setting. Easy commute to DC for sightseeing and relaxing back at home. Do yourself a favor and check out the small communities nearby, you can find some real gems. Host was fantastic and easy going.

Summary: My wife, Goldendoodle and I really enjoyed our stay. The house is very cute with two decks facing the river. We used the kayaks and our dog came along. The current is mild so we paddled upstream and then returned. Hope to return.

Summary: The Host was great and responsive to all of our requests. We are the outdoor types and had a fabulous time fishing in the Shenandoah River; we caught several fish. The house was great and had everything that we needed. The surrounding grounds were well maintained. The path to the river is quite steep, but we didn't have any issues making a few trips each day to go fishing. The proximity to Sky Meadows State Park afforded us plenty of hiking opportunities, and the town of Berryville has several hidden gem restaurants and is certainly worth exploring. We certainly will revisit this property soon.

Summary: Not gonna lie, a little off the beaten path, but a beautiful home on the Shenandoah. Had such a peaceful week with amazing views. A very much needed vacation. Definitely will go again , hopefully in the warmer weather , to go tubing or kayaking on the river. Jennifer was very easy to work with and made you welcome to her home. Loved it all!!!

Summary: The house was exactly what we were looking for. Beautiful location right on the Shenandoah River. So relaxing and peaceful!! House was clean and well stocked. Check in was easy. Jennifer was so easy to work with and responded right away. We went to Harper's Ferry one day and also The Shenandoah National Park. All easy to get to. We will definitely be back!!
