Positive: I chose this place because it was close to the Grand Seiko factory and it looked like a really nice place. The staff was amazing, super helpful and accommodating. The food was great. The onsen was great. I wish I could live there.
Negative: I liked everything about this place.

Positive: Each room is a separate self-contained unit which ensures total privacy. Our unit comprised a bedroom with Western-style beds, a tatami dining room (where we had dinner and breakfast), comfortable recliners in a sitting area with a window overlooking the river and mountains, a refreshments area with a fully-stocked mini bar (containing complimentary beer and non-alcoholic drinks), a hot/cold water dispenser, coffee machine as well as snacks. What bowled us over was our very own private onsen with full facilities (dressing area, shower/cleansing area, rain shower, indoor pool as well as outdoor pool.) Hot spring water was piped into both the indoor and outdoor pools. The indoor pool had a picture window looking out to the outdoor pool while the outdoor pool had unobstructed views of the river and Mount Iwate. Soaking in our own private outdoor hot spring with an unbeatable view of Mt. Iwate was an unforgettable experience.
Negative: Meals were brought course by course to our unit by a staff member and placed on a trolley at the entrance of our unit. The staff member would use Google Translate to advise guests on how the food was to be eaten. This required the guests to get up from the cushions on the tatami floor to collect the trays from the trolley and serve each course themselves. This made for a rather disruptive dining experience but it was only a minor inconvenience . I'm guessing the reason for this way of meal service could be the rooms being separate units and located away from the Main Building.

Positive: Fabulous lake and mountain views with private outdoor onsen, fantastic living area with tatami mats and Japanese in-room dining. Amazing food and service. Exceptional in every way.

Positive: The veiw was the best, and the onsen was perfect and spacious (just bear in mind that is smells like egg XD)
Negative: Just 1 thing noticed is that the chair where you sit on the floor has a cushion that keeps on sliding. I recommend the owner to get the cushions that have a rope where it can be tied to the chair to stop it from sliding. There is nothing there that is bad, just a recommendation.
Summary: Best place to go for private onsen for the price.
