Positive: A characterful annexe with home comforts. Nice comfortable bed too.

Negative: Low beams. Anyone over 5ft 5" will struggle. My husband banged his head on numerous occasions. Maybe some sort of signage would be useful. Also further out than we thought.

Positive: Interesting, old property with many historic features - low ceilings, beams, fireplaces - and a very pretty, slightly overgrown garden, which would be great for children and dogs. The annexe is very well equipped, comfortable and warm and we enjoyed our brief stay.

Negative: Our only reservation, which wouldn't be an issue unless you wanted to walk a lot, was that all the local, signed footpaths were either inaccessible (no bridges) or completely overgrown.

Summary: Interesting, historic, comfortable property with a pretty garden.

Negative: Small bed in main bedroom,could be bigger. Only one bathroom. Would be a nice touch to supply tea / coffee.

Positive: Lovely rural location with easy access to Berkeley, Slimbridge, Dursley and other nice places to visit. Simple cottage - ideal for a couple with young children plus another couple. Separate kitchen, dining and lounge areas. All lovely and clean.

Negative: Confusion at the time of booking about the bedroom layout, which the agents couldn’t clarify. The bedroom arrangement means that it only fits two couples and two young children as there are only two separate bedrooms and an alcove off one which can accommodate children.

Positive: It was a really beautiful cottage. We found the location was stunning and the garden was so relaxing. The house itself was quirky but typical of an old cottage with tight stairs and low beams. The kitchen was fabulous and we spent most of our time in there. We enjoyed the seclusion and the peace.

Negative: The only negative was the low beams and banging my head, but that it was you expect from a very old property.
