Positive: Location, clean and comfortable. We found the owners very friendly and helpful. There are some really good walks straight from the cottage, ideal for dogs. We needed the OS map app to find them, but they are well signed when you get on them.

Negative: The listing said 2 bathrooms. It is 1 bathroom and an extra shower in one bedroom. The listing said pets allowed but it is one dog only. After a few calls with Sykes the managers we were allowed to pay an additional fee to take a second dog. Quite stressful as we only found this out immediately we had booked, which was no cancellation allowed. Having to take our own towels….never come across this before. Having Sykes involved is not helpful….23 emails each with slightly different detail and policy information.

Summary: It was a good stay and would consider going back again.

Positive: It was very quirky and rustic but had all the mod cons needed to be comfortable, I fell in love with the cottage The location is beautiful.

Negative: With check out being 10am felt a bit rushed having to strip bedding. Due to us having a lot of rain the single track roads leading to any main route were quite flooded in several places making it very difficult for standard cars to navigate the roads. It was also nearly 3miles of single track road not 1 mile as stated in description but it is a rural area which I’m sure a 4x4 vehicle would have no problem with.

Summary: Very scenic and peaceful beautiful cottage and lovely hosts

Positive: Location was fabulous - isolated but within 10 minute drive into town

Negative: I got anxious before we went as I couldn't contact the owners before we travelled in order to make arrangements to collect the keys. They did however contact me the night before I travelled and arrangements were made. (Good support from the admin staff over this.)

Summary: It was a lovely stay in a property that had excellent facililties

Positive: Cost, quiet, warm. Out of the way but walkable to Kirby Lonsdale.

Negative: Would have liked sharp knives for preparing food and the oven didn’t really get to temperature but we managed ok
