Positive: So 'Luxury Resort Villa' is a bit misleading as the villa itself is not really 'luxury' but Anahita resort itself is (along with a luxury price tag). The villa is comfortable enough and quiet but the decor is very dated/dark and had several issues detailed below and in photos. We felt the description of it having 'a pool with a view' misleading. It has what amounts to a small plunge pool that you can cool off in full view of the restaurant across the water. Anahita is aimed squarely at golfers with deep pockets, most of whom are on inclusive packages. If you stay at the villa you will be billed for everything, down to bottled water, so the 25% 'resident' discount doesn't go very far. We also felt we were treated as second-class guests as we weren't on a package at the main resort. On arrival, the reception staff didn't greet us or introduce the resort. Just checked us in and gave us a key card. Some of the individual staff were very friendly and made a fuss of our kids. It was the overall level of service we got for a premium resort that just felt off. For example. being given tables away from other guests and with no wifi with which to entertain the kids. You also have to book for dinner to ensure you get fed, and cannot eat before 7pm even with young children. This is all a bit weird in a place that has a kids club ($60 per kid per day if under 4). That aside, the resort is beautiful, the pool and private beach amazing and the food is great. We also did a golf taster class so maybe we'll come back for an all-inclusive treat one day!

Negative: Wifi - we ended up having to use the nextdoor villa's and that only worked in one room. Damp - there were damp patches on the wall with paint flaking off Bathrooms - broken tap in the bath and a rainforest shower head that was hanging through the ceiling Ants - kind of unavoidable in Mauritius but they could get in through broken sealant around the kitchen sink Mirrors - covered in black stains from damp

The villa has a small swimming pool that is perfect for kids, as well as access to the main resort pool, ensuring everyone in the family had a great time. Housekeeping came every morning to clean the villa and brought us two bottles of water daily, which was a very thoughtful touch. The host, Uzair, was incredibly helpful and responsive, ensuring we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Any minor issues or questions we had were promptly addressed, and we felt well taken care of throughout our visit. The villa’s location is perfect for exploring the surrounding area, with easy access to nearby attractions and a convenient village for groceries just a short drive away. The provided amenities, including the boat to Île aux Cerfs, added to the overall convenience and luxury of our stay.
