Positive: The apartment was modern, tastefully decorated and fully equipped- everything you could possibly need. I loved that there were a few extras for cooking with roo -oil/spices etc. Makes it so much easier.

Positive: The location to the beach and also El Miro viewpoint was perfect! We could walk almost anywhere we wanted which was amazing. Plus, the pool was so nice for the days we wanted to be in the water, but not get sandy at the beach. Parking was super easy and we felt incredibly secure with the guarded garage and coded doors.
Negative: Nothing! We had an amazing stay and experience!

Negative: Apartment was lovely - couldn’t fault it. Only negative thing would be around payment and the surprise inconvenience around that. Our host said that they were unable to complete payment using my reserved credit card (I wasn’t clear why as the previous place I booked in CR via booking.com was fine with my card) and that we’d need to pay in cash. She was nice about it and said she’d accompany us to the ATM. Of course we didn’t want to do that as we just wanted to get on with our trip, so we did an international transfer to her Canadian account (on a Friday afternoon) which naturally takes time as our banks in the UK had closed by then. She suggested that account as she wanted to avoid the exorbitant PayPal charges - fair enough. Though I’m sure it’s all legit - at the time we felt a bit weird about doing a transfer to an account in a different country ASAP. We took it with a grain of salt and did it anyway. Then I got a few worried texts from the host that the payment hasn’t come through, which was a bit perturbing as we are just tourists trying to enjoy a fuss-free trip. She asked to see screenshots of the status of payment (after I’d already sent her confirmation of transfer the day before). I understand it’s her livelihood so I had to reassure her that Booking.com has my credit card on file so I wasn’t going to run away without paying. It would have been easier if we knew in advance and we could have arranged the pre-payment or cash accordingly and could have a fuss-free stay in Jaco.

Positive: We loved it here! The condo is a great location for the beach and to enjoy Jaco restaurant and night scene as well. The condo is super cute, and a great space for a couple or 3 people. The rooftop patio is also a nice addition for a sunset cocktail. The host, Karen is very nice, attentive, and all around a lovely host.
