Positive: We really enjoyed our stay at this house. Owners were excellent communicators and we had no problems while we were there. The home was very clean and felt very home-y. The home had everything we needed, and was a great place to come back to each evening and relax after a day on the beach or hiking the nearby trails. The location was great - about a half mile to the main beach entrance and the more popular restaurants - an easy and relaxing walk, even with children.

Negative: The sleeping accommodations were not very comfortable. Neither the beds nor pillows were great at all. And the outdoor shower is more of just a hose attached to a showerhead, so don't be expecting to take a hot shower out there. And while this house might be 350ft to the beach as the bird flies, it's just a little bit more of a walk to get there on the trail. And note that the boardwalk that goes over the dune leads to a steep sand drop to the beach. It's fine to go down, but it's a bit of a workout to get back up. I'd recommend walking to an entrance to the left or down to the main beach entrance to the right. We also had significant issues with the Wi-fi in the house. But given that we had a difficult time with service in the whole city, I'm not sure that that is an issue particular to the house. And while this isn't a complaint and more of a suggestion- we saw many other of the nearby rental properties that offered other outdoor options such as bikes/beach chairs/outdoor games for guest use, and it would have been nice if this property had offered those too.

Summary: Great Stay! Just a few things to consider...

Positive: location!! back patio couch was comfortable dinning table

Negative: TV didn’t work..therefore we couldn’t watch the DVDs we brought with us. Outdoor shower didn’t work Shower is hall bathroom didn’t work took forever to get the back door to lock…poorly designed door. missing cooking items beds were too small..big enough for one person only and extremely uncomfortable No leisure amenities such as bikes, table tennis

Summary: Our stay was worth it only because we were in Pacific City. I will not book this location again nor can I recommend it.

Positive: The house was really clean and comfortable, and the walkway made for nice walks over the bluff and to the beach. I loved the gas fireplace at night. I would definitely stay here again!

Negative: The beds are extra firm, but maybe a thin mattress topper would help. If the third bedroom could be arranged to fit a queen bed instead of a full it would accommodate adults better.

Positive: The location cannot be beat. Truly, it was incredible. We LOVED being so close to the boardwalk and not having to worry about parking to get down to the beach. Plus, the private entrance provided many other sitting/lounging and beach opportunities. The facilities were also amazing, we loved being able to wash our feet off in the outdoor shower (if it were warmer weather we would have definitely used this more!). Similarly, it was very easy for us to cook and store food as there was plenty of storage. Another huge perk was the garage! This isn't a very common amenity and it really made a huge difference.

Negative: For such a beautiful home and expensive stay, we were pretty bummed with the mattress quality. All of us had terrible backaches from sleeping each night on the beds - they creaked and felt very low quality (almost like a child's bed). If you are a picky sleeper or if you have any back issues, I think this would be a dealbreaker honestly. Or maybe bring a mattress topper! Check out was a bit early (10am), but understandable due to COVID cleaning procedures.

Summary: Great location with lots of added amenities!
