Positive: The location was outstanding, one of the most beautiful and peaceful places we have stayed. However it is rather remote which might not suit everyone.

Negative: The kitchen would benefit from a really good clean (pull out chopping board, drawers, cupboards etc) and the one shower was quite weak.

Positive: Amazing place, a perfect location just near Oslofjord... Quiet place with high level of privacy, no neighbors around... House is cozy if you are only 2 persons, and at the same time big enough if you are 2 families... A lot green around, and just a few steps (literally) to the Oslo fjord, where you can enjoy the view and small, private beach... Extra fees for bed sheets (which is normal in Norway, I guess), and the possibility to hire one of few boats or electric bicycles to enjoy surrounding nature... Amazing spot called "the end of the world" just around 15km away... The owner answers phone calls faster than the emergency number does, and he is always very helpful with any questions you have... At the same time, the owner is very flexible, so I do recommend to reserve one/first night through the booking (or any other website), just to get contact information directly to the owner, and then arrange whole your staying directly with him, I promise - you will be happy to do so... 😉 I recommend the spot 100% if you just like to take a break from every day rat race and urban noises... In this place, you can totally just enjoy the nature, silence, and the beauty of Norway...

Positive: Great location. A beautiful and simple house with lovely surroundings. We stayed for just one night but would have gladly stayed a few more days. Our dog loved it too!

Negative: not many power outlets in the kitchen, and we had trouble finding where to throw out the trash — had to ask the host. The house was clean, but there was some dust on the blinds in the bathroom.

Positive: Location, location, location. What a magnificent spot! The house is on a former military base, which is now privately owned. The house is surrounded by grass, shrubs and trees, and is right next to the water. The location is open to public, but not to cars. So we saw an occasional hiker or dog walker, but otherwise we were pretty much alone. We loved it!!!!

Negative: The house is not cleaned very well in the areas that need some extra attention every once in a while, like the hood over the stove, radiators and horizontal blinds. They were mostly dusty and greasy. Much of the furniture upstairs was broken or just old and tired. Cupboards had holes in them and handlebars broken off. Bedside table drawers had all sorts of junk in them. When we arrived, we gave the hood a deep clean right away, because it was dripping with grease and the kitchen smelled because of it. The double bed in the master bedroom was sagging, and the mattress was dirty. It felt a bit like we were staying in the house of a super friendly but rather sloppy uncle. Despite these points, we would book the place again in a heartbeat. Never stayed in a more beautiful place. We hope the house will get the TLC it deserves.
