Positive: Ours was one of four apartments. It was large with upmarket furnishings including the three ensuite bathrooms. It was serviced regularly and our maid was friendly and efficient. Top marks to her as well as Gerard the caretaker/handyman who took care of anything that needed fixing. The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped which really added to an enjoyable stay. The location in the South was great, right on the beach with a sparkling, clean pool between the apartment and the beach entrance. We were able to barbecue a few times and shops were close by. There was plenty of secure parking and the security of the whole complex was excellent.

Negative: We had some power interruptions but obviously not the fault of the owner. Fortunately they were short unlike back in SA.

Summary: My daughter and family from UK joined us and we all agreed that Beach Spot was superb.

Positive: If you are looking for a quiet place with a beautiful view and a great location to explore the island, this apartment is the best choice. The owner Martine is a very nice, hospitable person. It may be an insignificant detail, but the building has beautiful, huge wooden doors. If I visit Mauritius again, the problem of finding accommodation is solved.

Positive: We had great stay in appartment, I have to say that appartement is nicer than photos provided. Well equiped kitchen, great bedroom and bathrooms and stunning view over the ocean! Communication with owner and gate-keeper was great. We were travelling with kids, beach is very shallow even 100m from the shore. On the other hand, you have to travel if you want to swim.

Positive: Everything! The host Martine was responsive. The apartment was clean and neat and was cleaned during the weekdays. The pool was great and on the beach. Going to book here again for sure!!!!

Negative: the wifi was a little slow, will give it a 5/10. really not a huge issue at all , but can be fixed with another service provider of some sorts etc.

Summary: We will be back!

Positive: Apartment is great itself. Its huge ( like 100m2) and comfy. There are 4 apartments in the building. There is a small clean swimming pool and a place for barbecue etc. View is fantastic and calming, there is a magnificent tree in the middle of the grass and an ocean..

Negative: The beach in outside of the apartment is OK for Mauritius, a worse is that the sea in that place is not for swimming - it has like 100-500m of shallow water (to the knee or little more) and its not for swimming at all there cause its too shallow. A lot of sea grass, sea cucumbers and sea urchins. Please take it into account that for swimming you have to go by the car to the nearest beaches like St Felix. Please take into consideration when you go with kids for example. Apartment is great however.

Positive: On arrival we met with Gerard who was very polite and welcoming. The apartment is very clean and tidy. Josian the cleaning lady is very polite and made sure we had everything we needed on request. The apartment is very spacious. Martine the owner was very accommodating when we mentioned we had a late flight. Thank you again. Only one request for long mirrors to be provided in the rooms will be really appreciated by customers. We had a great time staying at the apartment and will surely return. Regards Mrs Wilcox

Positive: The constant relaxing back ground noise as the waves break on the outer reef. The windows that over look the ocean slide away to open up the whole wall leaving a fantastic view of the breakers hitting the reef. The supermarket is so easy to get to and very well stocked but you do need a car. Some one in another review suggested walking there, he must have been a marathon runner and weight lifter to bring back the groceries. The kitchen is very well equipped and the stove and oven work well. Josanne, Gerard and Adam looked after us very well with Josanne cleaning for us twice in our 6 day stay. Martine the hostess is easily contactable by email or the app and reply’s to any questions very promptly. There are two doors and a gate to get into the apartment. The large wooden entrance door is magnificent but I gave up trying to lock it after the first day but it doesn’t matter as you also have a large gate to lock then the front door of the apartment so there are no security concerns. Talking of the front door to latch or lock this door you shut the door then bring the handle up then it operates as a normal door in Australia does, it is then latched and the lockable with a key. I asked Adam after two days how to lock the door he and Gerard helpfully demonstrated raising the handle. The walks on the beach at dawn or dusk are amazing but you do need footwear. The only local restaurant we tried was Saint Aubin whilst I can recommend the magnificent grounds and their rum I would not eat there again as the food was tasteless and slops ( perhaps we just made bad choices from the menu ) The apartment is well positioned to site see by car and the area is quiet with little traffic. If you wish to see the south and west side of Mauritius don’t hesitate to book this apartment.

Positive: The apartment is big, beautiful and with the wonderful view of the ocean. Property is very private, quiet and safe. Cleaning lady comes every day except weekends and bank holidays. She is very nice and discreet. Martine is very well communicative hostess. Kitchen is very well equipped with high quality dining dishes. We loved the place and definitely would like to come back!

Negative: Just little suggestion for the bigger mirror.

Positive: The apartment is nicely designed, very modern, spacious and comfortable. The location is very good near a beautiful beach. The cleaning lady was present every day except Sunday.

Negative: Wi-fi is kinda misconception, very weak and practically not working :(
