Positive: The location was ideal for wondering around , visiting small shops and exploring the ancient sites. Beaches within walking distance and numerous restaurants and cafes to visited

Negative: Only complaint was the weather is was exceptionally rainy for the time of year.

Summary: Our hostess was the most glorious person that made our trip a ten out of ten.

Positive: There are two faces to Side. One is the sprawling mass of hotels on the approach road, the other is the beautiful, traffic free and atmospheric (especially at night) old town. We chose to stay in the latter and are so glad that we did. The Beach House apartment was more like a house. Spacious and well appointed living quarters and kitchen area, lovely bedroom with comfortable bed and loads of storage space (there is also a separate second bedroom) and bathroom with a spacious shower. Access to the property is up a stairway that also leads to a small balcony. Our hostess Penny lived in a house at the other end of the communal garden and was always on hand to help and give advice should we need it. There is a small beach 50 metres from the property and larger beaches on either side of the village. NOTE: Penny and her husband also have a four room apartment complex on the eastern side of the village also called Beach House which can lead to some confusion when arriving or departing by taxi. My advice would be to use the airport transfer service that is provided by Penny to avoid this.

Negative: Absolutely nothing. Everything was perfect.

Positive: The apartment was in a great location, with a gorgeous, tranquil garden hidden behind it. It was very clean and had everything we needed, plus very good internet. Excellent value for money, and the hosts were charming and friendly.

Positive: The apartment was perfectly located in the heart of the ancient town very near the harbour. Everything was clean and tidy when we arrived and when our taxi driver got a bit lost Penny came and collected us and our bags to take us to the correct location. She was a great host throughout, never imposing but always there if needed for local knowledge and having lived there for over 30 years, Penny had loads of local knowledge. We had a great 4 nights there and if returning to Side we would look no further than this accommodation.

Positive: The location is premium, taking the morning coffee looking at the see is much enjoyable and empties the head. (sea view from the kitchen and one of the bedrooms). The apartment has everything one needs, the beds were super comfy, climatization in every room (we used it very little but it's there if needed), spacious and bright living room/kitchen. The garden is very nice and chill, there is a swinging bench that is perfect to end the day. The hosts are wonderful, Penny and Ali are lovely people who are living in a beautiful house right next and are very helpful. To make grocery shopping the cheapest are BIM, A101 and Sok but those usually do not sell any alcohol, if you want beer/wine then you have to go to Carrefour or Migros. To eat there is plenty of choice, in front there is The Taste whom the owner is very friendly, you can order there and they will deliver to the door. For a less tourist vibe and more traditional and family atmosphere there is Kalimera in the little alley of Appolon sk., there you will be treated as if you were at a family dinner, you can tell you are not sure what you want to choose and the chef will propose you a bit of everything and put it all on the table like a royal dinner, the food is awesome and very cheap. Side is a one of a kind place, if one likes ancient civilizations then this is the place to go. And anywhere you go in Side, always say that you are with Ali and Penny!

Negative: It is not so much as disliked because it is municipal decision so what can we do about it, but cars are now not allowed inside the town (Penny still assisted us in getting with the car in the town in order to drop and then load the luggage, the security at the entrance of the town area will request to leave the car documentation as warranty and will give it back once we leave the town area), then we leave the car in the big parking lot just outside town limits, from there we either walk around 10min to get back to the house or we take the tourist "train" that drops us at the entrance of the town (preferable if coming with grocery shopping) and we walk 2min to get home, (even if the car gets a bit dusty as a result, best to leave the car at the very end in the dirt lot, there you can leave it close to the "train" transport)

Summary: I wish it had lasted longer and I can't wait to go back
