There is room for your whole family to eat, spread out and relax, and enjoy Hancock Point. Feel the breeze from the ocean on the outdoor decks, while you relax with a book. Book a sailing lesson at the town sailing club, or walk along the beach to seaglass hunt. Bring your fishing pole, or take a kayaking tour to experience the ocean life. Sunrises and sunsets over the water along Bay Ave or West Shore road are a 2 minute stroll away. Enjoy the beauty of Maine on Frenchman Bay, the way life should be!!
This is a beautiful historic home on the coveted Hancock Point. It has a new kitchen beautifully renovated with the original hardwood floors. There are 4 large bed rooms upstairs, and a full bathroom with a claw foot tub!!
The first floor is open, seats 8 to 10 comfortably for dining. The spacious living room has a fireplace, large original windows, and built in window seats that add a lot of charm!
There is a large porch facing the front of the house with outdoor furniture and a swing for stargazing, feeling the ocean breazes, or catching up on your reading. There is a newly added outdoor shower, in addition to the first and second floor full bathrooms. This house is a special place and is a perfect combination of old charm, and new. The newly added FIRE PIT is great to chill after a long day hiking and have s'mores and stargaze on a clear night.
** There is heat on the first floor. Heat rises to the second floor, and there are plenty of blankets for the colder months!
The famous Carters beach is about 10 minutes walking distance, the clay tennis courts are about 2 minutes, and the town dock for sailing, kayaking and fishing is about 5 minutes walking distance. Crocker House restaurant is near the house as well!
Day trips to Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park and Schoodic point are about an 18 mile drive. Ellsworth is approximately 6 miles, for more restaurants and shopping!
There are hiking trails near the house, Tunk lake, and Rte. 1 continues to "Downeast Maine" along the coastline.

Summary: Great experience, overall. The only issues we had was a bit of noise from the Inn next door, but really not terribly bothersome. And the thermostat heating was pre-scheduled to come on in the morning and it was difficult to override (no instructions given on operating thermostat).

Summary: We had a wonderful stay! We were lucky to find this property to be close to the rest of our family that were in town for a celebration of life. It’s a short walk to Frenchman’s Bay and the dock for fishing or to put in a kayak. Would definitely recommend a stay and hope to visit again.

Summary: I brought my mother and my four children, ages 15, 13, 7, and 6 to stay for two weeks. We were absolutely amazed at everything about this property. The home is beautiful with more than enough space for all of us. We were charmed by this renovated home, lots of comfortable spaces for us to hang out. The porch became our favorite spot. We used the firepit multiple times, the kids played in the yard-there were wild strawberries growing on the property and they spent hours eating them! Beds were comfortable, kitchen is small but beautiful. This home was a perfect spot for all of us to rest and recharge. The location is quiet and absolutely breathtaking. We walked all over Hancock Point, explored the beaches and dock, made friends with the neighbor, walked the trails, and spotted lots of wildlife. The view of Acadia across the bay is incredible! We were close enough to everything the area has to offer but off the beaten path enough to enjoy some peace and quiet. This by far is my favorite vacation spot to date and my family is already asking when we will be back.

Summary: This place was better than expected. Beautiful renovation from floors to windows to porches. From an experienced historic home rehabber, I know what it takes. I especially loved the taste in decorating. Comfortable, yet very beautifully appointed. Our ladies’ book club rated this one of our best stays in 27 years.
