Our countryside property is situated in the small hamlet of La Poulaillerie which is 2km from the nearest village of Vandre. We are 30-40 minutes from the historical port of La Rochelle and the beaches of Chatelaillon Plage. The islands of Ile de Re and Ile de Oleron are within reach also Royan, Cognac and Saintes are worth a visit. Ideal for a relaxing family holiday and a good location for walking, cycling, fishing and sailing. We have installed a heated pool and large enclosed patio area which is separate from the main south facing garden.

Summary: Location of La Poulaillerie is super. Calm and green environment. Tracey and Phil are very nice people. The house is very nice and you have everything you need to have a very good stay. What pleased us most where the three terraces so during the day you always have a shady place. The heated wimming pool is most certainly a plus as was used every day. Thanks Tracey and Phil for this super holiday.

Summary: Very comfortable with everything on hand. Lovely situation with a quiet front garden and a superb pool to the rear. Within easy reach of the coast and other attractions and excellent local shops for the day to day self catering needs. Would happily stay there again.

Summary: Lovely property, the pictures make it look smaller than it is!! Well equipped, comfortable and safe. Nice pool and the kids loved the garden. We BBQ'd every night and the terrace where we ate was a real subtrap. Lovely. Close to La Rochelle and other places of interest. Really lovely holiday. Thanks.

Summary: Everything was as described and the house, gardens etc were spotless; the customer service offered and delivered by the owners was nothing short of excellent and we, as a family, cannot recommend this house & the owners highly enough! The house is situated a 10min drive away from the main town - which has everything needed (Supermarket etc). With the house being located in what feels like the middle of a vast farm it has total piece and quiet and we found it a great place to chill out - well when the kids weren't going mad in the pool! La Rochelle is 30-45mins away by car and there are plenty of other towns within the same distance. We loved our stay and will be back again next year - and more than likely for many years to come :0)

Summary: We spent two excellent weeks at the Poulaillerie. The property is very well equipped and welcoming. It has everything you may need. It is spacious and provided an ideal setting for a holiday with our daughter, son-in-law and their three children. We enjoyed eating out under the pergola with the built in barbecue. We very much appreciated the small sitting room with chikdren's toys and the secure little courtyard where the toddler could play safely. The pool area is also very secure and well designed. We loved the pool. Surgeres is a very pleasant little town with everything one needs. I loved being back in Charente Maritime where I spent many happy holidays as a child. I would go back without hesitation.
