This spacious 3 bedroom Gite borders on the natural reserve of lake Grolhier, set in 10 acres of private wild flower meadows and is ideal for family holidays or an adults only retreat. With views over the private lake from all the bedrooms and the terrace being beside the lake, it's ideal for relaxing, some fishing and bird/wildlife watching.
The swimming pool is in a very private location overlooking the meadows.
We also have a pétanque (Boules), which can be used at any time.
There is plenty to do in the area with local markets, such as Piegut (every Wednesday) and beaches, such as st. Estephe or st. Matthieu. They offer canoeing and pedalo hire.
The area is ideal for riding bikes and walking.
The house is well equipped.

Summary: We enjoyed a couple of nights in this very peaceful hamlet. The cottage was lovely; tastefully decorated with every amenity one could wish for. The bathrooms were modern and clean. I appreciated Anja’s supply of salt,pepper, herbs, oil and vinegar; very thoughtful and helpful. We enjoyed the roaring fire on both evenings. A lovely home away from home if you want to totally relax in very serene surroundings. Thanks so much to our very friendly and helpful hosts, Anja and Nathan. Would love to go back someday.

Summary: We had a lovely holiday. Nice and peaceful and comfortable accommodation, lots of space unlike so many. The grounds were amazing with space, a pool, trampoline and toys provided to keep the children happy even when the weather wasn't great. Lots to see if you fancy a little excursion too!

Summary: My family and I spent a week in this fabulous Gite. It is located in a beautiful setting, with lovely spacious accommodation. The kids particularly loved the pool & well stocked games room (as did we!!). Made all the more comfortable by our helpful and attentive hosts. Already planning a return trip :-). All in all, a wonderful holiday!!

Summary: Beautiful gite, tastefully renovated with plenty of space inside and out to relax and unwind. The weather wasn't great for the first week so the games room was invaluable and my son is now quite the table tennis player and my daughter has been polishing her babyfoot skills! The pool was amazing and extremely well-kept and the lake provided hours of entertainment. Anja and Nathan go the extra mile to make sure that everything is perfect and we were extremely sad to leave. Safe to say we'll be back! Thanks for everything - it was absolutely amazing.

Summary: Gite de bost was just perfect. The setting is beautiful and relax and the converted barn is very comfortable and clean. The kids made use of the pool and the swing and attempted a little bit of fishing. The area around Piegut is perfect for a holiday with lots of things to do for the children as well as beautiful walks to be made. I highly recommend staying here for a relaxing and at the same time active holiday. Thank you Anja and Nathan for looking after us so well!

Summary: What a beautiful spot! We had a fabulous holiday with perfect weather (almost too hot!) enjoyed in the French countryside. Thank you so much to our hosts, Anja and Nathan, who were available to assist with anything we needed. What more could you ask for? The barn is well laid out with an idyllic view to wake up to from every bedroom window. Our children loved playing on the swing, in the pool, in the games room, rowing the boat on the lake and having a go at Pétanque. The nearest town Piegut is only a couple of miles away and has a supermarket and an amazing market on Wednesdays for the freshest fruit, vegetables, croissant and even wild boar! Nearby St. Estephe lake is a must for a perfect picnic – it also has a beach, restaurants/cafes and a great 2.5k walk including a little foot ferry that our kids controlled to pull us across the water. There are many activities in the area including zip lining, kayaking, caves, cycling, wine-tasting etc.. or you can simply relax in the ample grounds of the gite. We can't wait to return!

Summary: Surrounded by pretty countryside, not far from Piegut which has a nice street market as well as supermarkets and cafes. The gite is well set out and can easily accommodate larger groups. The facilities are good and the bedrooms open out over the lake which is a very pretty view. The swimming pool is nice and kids enjoyed paddling the boat on the lake. Overall we had a very relating time there.

Summary: This is a great find of a location and excellent quality gite accommodation at a really good price for the area.The gite is lovely and spacious with great views overlooking the owners lake. The owners are English speaking and very helpful with what to see in the local area. The property has a swimming pool and also lovely walks in the surrounding woods so offers complete relaxation. We also found the area really interesting with lots of places for the family, a great local market nearby, a Great Lake with a seaside for the kids and some great historic towns nearby. Cognac is close also. A full recommend.!
