Positive: What a house! Barbacane sits beautifully on Cythera and managed to exceed every expectation. The space is generous, full of charm, and has a wonderful sense of calm that's hard to come by. The location is amazing on top of a hill, with amazing and uninterrupted views of the gorges and the sea, while also being close to many of the island's hidden beaches and villages. The hosts are kind and friendly, and the house is fully equipped with plenty of amenities in and out. A genuinely special holiday home — we didn't want to leave. Καλή αντάμωση!

Positive: Absolutely stunning views, total silence, 180+ degree sea view, sunrise right in front. House very well-equipped and renovated whilst keeping its traditional touch. Very clean. Owner very helpful and kind. Great location on the island in terms of visits and grocery shopping.
Negative: Everything perfect. Just be advised that the last 300m of the road leading to the location are very bumpy (rocky road), we had read about that in the previous comments so we rented a 4x4 at Panayotis car rental (excellent service and valid for money) which made it easy.

Positive: We had a truly wonderful time at Hills Barbacane. The house itself is beautiful, and the peace and the views are simply breathtaking. Coming from a big city, it felt so special to spend our holiday in such a calm and serene place. The hosts are incredibly friendly, and we are leaving Kythira with unforgettable memories and the feeling of having had a truly perfect time. Thank you so much – we really hope to come back!

Positive: The house was amazing. Great views to the sea and surrounding hills. It's a very quiet location and there's no light pollution so great for star gazing. The kitchen was well equipped.
Negative: The final bit of the road to the property is a bit tricky.

Positive: The view and the location. Overlooking the Aegean Sea. The privacy, we were literally by ourselves apart from the sheep. The hosts willingness to accommodate and help us out. Always there to answer questions.
Negative: The problem with the water supply. The small windows in the mainroom, lack of day light inside. Bedroom was perfect. Exposure to the strong winds. Could not sit outside in the afternoon and evenings.
