Positive: The hotel was amazing! We were very fortunate to receive an upgrade given it was quiet season, and we were celebrating. The room was incredible, and the staff went above and beyond. We had a late flight out of China and we were able to use the gym facilities to shower prior to leaving. We didnt get chance to use the gym/pool/spa but they looked great. Fab views from the rooftop bar.

Positive: The room is spacious, modern, and nicely designed. The bathroom is large and the view from the jacuzzi/bathtub is beautiful. There’s plenty of storage space for your belongings.

Negative: The room was unbearably hot. The AC is central and fixed at 23°C, and the control panel in the room is just for show. When I called reception, they confirmed it’s not functional. The windows face the river, but there’s no proper blackout. Once the sun rises, the entire room fills with light. No soundproofing at all: you hear footsteps upstairs, doors opening and closing, cleaning staff talking loudly from 6AM, and even the boats passing by on the river. Breakfast had very limited options. Definitely not worth it. Most of the reception staff only speak Chinese. I understand this is China, but in a hotel of this price range you would expect staff who can communicate with international guests. The main restaurant closes at 9PM, which makes no sense for a five-star hotel. The room rate is around CNY 2,500 per night, and they take a CNY 2,000 deposit — you basically end up paying double upfront. Stayed for 5 nights, and honestly not a single night was comfortable. The location isn’t great and quite remote The room itself is nice, but the facilities, location and overall experience were very disappointing. Definitely not worth the price and I do not recommend this hotel.

Positive: I had a wonderful stay. The staff were very helpful and went the extra mile to make my stay as pleasant as possible. Edison and Pinky were particularly helpful! The room was luxurious, with a view of the Bund, which made it difficult to leave the hotel and explore!

Positive: Our room had the most amazing river view (Panorama Riverside Retreat King Room on a higher floor). The room was huge, very quiet and super clean. The gym, pool and spa facilities are fantastic. Breakfast was great and open till 12pm. The rooftop bar has stunning views over the city and the food & drinks up there were really good.

The staff went above and beyond by preparing a delightful surprise—an adorable cheesecake and mini cupcakes to celebrate our wedding anniversary. They also kindly extended our stay due to the typhoon, which was truly unexpected and deeply appreciated. Overall, we’re very satisfied with our experience and the thoughtful service provided.
