Positive: We really liked the house, it is really cosy. The garden is really nice, we would visit in spring and summer again when it would be green and even more inviting. There are really nice trails and things to see close to the village. I recommend this nice house with a nice host!

Positive: We absolutely loved our stay! This guesthouse offers genuine rustic charm with all the essential comforts—a perfect blend of tradition and necessity. The biggest highlight is that it's 100% pet-friendly. Our friendly, medium-sized dog, Lea, had a wonderful time. The property is incredibly secure, which gave us the peace of mind to leave Lea safely in the courtyard while we went sightseeing. We truly appreciated this level of safety and hospitality! The location is excellent for exploring the very picturesque Rose Valley of Bulgaria. A highly recommended retreat for travelers with or without pets looking for an authentic base in a beautiful region.

Positive: Old. The place has the soul of the 16th-17th century. Streets without asphalt, cheerful and happy children. The apartment is also in that spirit. In the evening everything is quiet, if there were no cats that caress themselves when the door is opened, there would not be a living soul. The right place for a person to realize how dependent he is on the city noise and comfort.

Summary: I appreciate the owner's effort to revive the forgotten!

Positive: I stayed at Balkan Barn for two nights and was absolutely blown away by the beauty and tranquility of this place. Nestled in a small beautiful village at the foot of the mountains, the property offers stunning views and an authentic connection to nature. The large, fully fenced garden is like a private park, complete with a pond, trees, and rich, diverse flora and fauna. The house itself is spacious, beautifully decorated in a rustic style, but offers all the modern comforts you could need. It feels very cozy – perfect for a relaxing getaway. The host Gaia is incredibly friendly, speaks perfect English, and made me feel welcome from the very beginning. She respects your privacy completely – although she lives in a neighboring house, the large courtyard is yours to enjoy almost entirely alone. Pets are more than welcome here – it's truly a paradise for them, with so much space to explore and enjoy safely. I stayed there alone with my two dogs, and for us, it was the perfect place to enjoy some peace and quiet. The natural beauty made it feel like a real retreat. I can’t recommend this place enough – it’s a hidden gem, and I would love to return.
