Positive: We stayed at B&B La Piaggia in the Province of Grosseto, Tuscany, during a recent trip to southern Tuscany and couldn’t have picked a better spot for convenience. The location is fantastic. You walk straight out the gate and head directly up the hill to the beautiful walled village of Montemerano. It literally couldn’t be more convenient — no driving or searching for parking once you arrive. The B&B offers free parking right on site, which was a huge relief after navigating the narrow roads. Our room (number 4) was compact but comfortable. The bed was genuinely comfortable and we slept well every night. There’s a small refrigerator, which came in handy, and a mini-split air conditioner that kept the room nicely cool during the warmer days. The view from the room was pretty, looking out over the surrounding countryside — a nice touch to wake up to. That said, the room is quite small, and the shower in room 4 is very tiny. We managed fine, but anyone larger or less mobile might find it difficult to use. It’s something to keep in mind if that’s important to you. Breakfast was a highlight — a wide assortment of options on a generous buffet each morning, with plenty of fresh items and good variety. The host was very helpful and even made dinner reservations for us when we didn’t have phone service, which was much appreciated. Internet was adequate. Overall, we felt it offered really good value for the price. It didn’t feel like the owner was on site managing everything directly, but the staff kept things clean and running smoothly. We’d happily recommend B&B La Piaggia if you’re looking for a convenient, no-fuss base to explore Montemerano and the surrounding area in the Province of Grosseto. Just be aware of the compact room and shower size if that’s a concern for you. Great spot!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Positive: it was peaceful, with a beautiful view & we could walk into the cute town for dinner, Terme di Saturnia was only a 8-9 min drive, make sure you get there around 9-930 if on a weekend!! Lucia & her husband were lovely! Lucia made us a delicious cappuccino every morning, in fact 2:). breakfast was a typical european spread, bread, homemade jams, cheese & prosciutto etc..
Negative: the heat seemed to be on in our room from 5pm-7pm? it took the chill off for the evenings but afternoons were a bit chilly for me if we were there, which was only the last 2 days, end of october. my hubby was fine though.

Positive: We have visited the area several times and stayed in several different agriturismi but what we really loved about this one was the location, because you're in the countyside with a beautiful view of the valley from the window but you are also a 5 min walk into the most adorable town with wine bars, bakeries, and the most delicious local restaurant. It was really nice not to have to get in the car to go to dinner. The breakfast was fresh and delicious and the staff kind and accomodating. A lovely stay and 10 min from the terme.
