Positive: Marianne, the owner, was friendly and accommodating to our check-in time. The 100 year old house's exterior is stunning and has a beautiful tile floor entrance. The bed we slept in was very cushy and comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast, which was included in the stay. She gifted me a little Fryslan pin as we were leaving. Our time there was something like staying at your grandma's place with its bevy of eclectic furniture and decor.
Negative: I was seeking a stay that included the traditional Dutch cupboard or box bed (bedstede). Her house has a room with that, which I saw online and booked. When we arrived, she placed us in a different room, which she explained was larger, more comfortable. We asked about the box bed and she showed that room to us. We could have opted to sleep there, but it was quite small and hot, so we slept where she placed us. All in all, it was disappointing but still a good stay.
Summary: Dutch grandma's house
