Other Policy The building that houses the b&b, located in the village of diano di scigliano, was built in the early 1800s, from 1934 to 1993, a wood-fired bakery operated on the warehouse floors, serving the entire village of scigliano and the surrounding area, it is in these renovated, renovated, and adapted ground-floor rooms on a public road that we decided to open our b&b, a terrace with a splendid view of the valley below is available for breakfast and sunbathing on hot days (solarium). the uniqueness of the b&b calabria lies in the ground-floor rooms, located in the old family bakery. these spaces enjoy very pleasant natural air conditioning from may to october, as our area is located halfway between the tyrrhenian sea and the sila mountains. another unique feature is the terrace where breakfast is served, with a breathtaking view of the natural landscape with the surrounding valley and the medieval convent (now a retirement home), please note that use of the public swimming pool will include an additional chargeplease inform of your expected arrival time in advance. you can use the special requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation, guests are required to show a photo id and credit card upon check-in. please note that all special requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply, payment before arrival by bank transfer is required. the property will contact you after you book to provide instructions, this property does not accommodate bachelor(ette) or similar parties, swimming pool: closed from thu, oct 1, 2026 until mon, may 31, 2027, managed by a private host

His dedication to ensuring we had a good stay was highly appreciated, and we want to say a sincere thank you for his warm hospitality and effort. Overall Verdict If you are looking for a host who genuinely cares and will do everything he can to help you, Raphael is fantastic. With a few minor adjustments to the amenities and a clearer description of the cooling facilities, B&B Calabria has the potential to be a stellar place to stay.
Negative: Areas for Improvement While Raphael’s hosting is top-tier, there are a few aspects of the property and service that could be improved to match his efforts: The Breakfast Experience: While the terrace offers picturesque views, the breakfast served there unfortunately fell short, with items that were barely edible. Thankfully, Raphael offers a great alternative: a voucher for a nearby café where you get a coffee, a bottle of water, and a fresh pastry (usually a croissant). We highly recommend opting for the café breakfast instead. Air Conditioning Clarification: The property is advertised as having air conditioning, but during our stay, it seemed that fans were intended to serve this purpose. Positive: The little village was amazing, i the middle of very beautiful landscape. The units were comfortable and spacious, a renovated charming old building. Raffaele the owner was very friendly and talkative, he treated us very nice and gave us a lot of advice of things to do and visit, we appreciated a lot since it was very useful. We did enjoy staying at B&B Calabria, it was part of enjoying and discovering Calabria, for sure we will repeat!
Negative: If I have to say something the lightning in the rooms was not optimal, but it was never an issue. Also mention the 20 min drive from the highway until the village at the beginning might seem a bit tedious, bit it is totally worth it.

Positive: We loved our stay and highly recommend staying here. Rafaelle is an excellent host who is very experienced at making guests feel welcome. The comfiest bed I've had in 2 weeks of travelling Italy and the room had everything we needed. Super friendly town, and we had a good feed at the local restaurant. This was a stopover for us on our way from Sicily to Puglia, however we would love to return one day to spend more time in the area as its stunning!
