Positive: Everything was great: from the camp set-up (cozy yurts with woodframe beds, fresh sheets and ovens, football & volleyball pitch, swings, clean toilets and sauna!), to the experience (friendly Kyrgyz hosts, who speak English and even German, horse riding, walking up the hills at dusk, even driving to the camp), to the food (Lagman soup for dinner; eggs, pancakes and porridge for breakfast; always great bread, jam, honey, dates, nuts, cookies and candy on the side). Tips: - Take a one-hour riding tour in the morning after breakfast. The horses are beginner friendly, we were galopping along the shore before we knew it. -Ask for the sauna when you arrive, so they can heat it up and it‘s hot between 8-9pm, so you can enjoy once the sun has set and use the hot water to shower after. The shower basin is in the sauna, so you won‘t get cold - you‘ll mix hot and cold water to your taste in a bucket and use a pan to pour it and wash yourself. - Take binoculars for the drive. Next to the countless cows, horses and sheep, you might spot marmots, foxes and all kinds of birds.

Negative: Just a hint if you‘re driving: the road is not paved and it will take another hour or so to get to the camp from the top of the pass. Also there is no receiption. However, it‘s a very scenic drive and you can embrace nature without looking at your phone!
