Summary: enough cheap restaurants in the neighborhood we had a nice diner for two with wine for 25 euro total

Positive: Good location and close to free parking but watch for road debris from bridge above.

Negative: At junction of canal crossing so boat horns every 5 mins from 8.30am to 8pm. Becomes annoying after a while. In summer room has fans which are great but noisy if you want to sleep and alternative is getting hot as room like a cave.

Positive: The location was great, very close to downtown and with all the places to visit around. The place was alright. They returned my deposit

Negative: I found the place a little too narrow for even a small family. Sure it was good for just staying one night, but I think it would have felt claustrophobic for more days. I didn't like the complexity of paying for this place. Although I have to recognize I was all written in Booking.com, it was still unexpected and felt strange, uncomfortable and unusual. Mainly, you have to book the place through Booking, paying with your credit card, but this is not enough. Then we received a message from the property saying we had to provide an extra 50 euros payment as a deposit, either with a bank transfer or Paypal. We could not get the keys without it, which didn't give us many options. And then, after checking out we learned we have to pay an extra 2.5 euros per night per person as some type of "fee", in cash, and leave it at the place. Probably all of these is alright and was written, but still felt wrong for the following reasons: 1) I have booked dozens of places in Booking and this is the first time I ever see this. 2) Learning you have do a bank transfer as a deposit, directly and outside of Booking, if you want the keys feels unsafe and weird. 3) Having to, on top of that, leave extra cash on the room when leaving is inconvenient and unheard of, or at least it has never happened to me before. 4) I'm sure this was written somewhere in booking, but I didn't see any of this in the main page when I paid for the service. So it all felt like unexpected extra charges and extra annoyances to me. Given that the booking was not refundable, it also felt like some kind of trap. 5) Finally, expecting that to book a room for a night you need to a) have a credit card for booking b) have the possibility to do PayPal or bank transfer for the deposit and c) have the exact cash in your pockets for the extra fees, is too much. I want to pay what is needed, in one shot, and knowing it all, and that's it. I do not like surprises.

Summary: Need to know: Stay for just a night needed 3 different payments with 3 different systems.

Negative: Having to pay another 25 euro cash to our host for power !!!! After our full payment to Booking. Com for the five day booking !!!And sadly NO linen change or room clean in the five days.
