Positive: We really enjoyed our stay at Aura Castle. Really nice rooms and big ones. Great facilities and staff, great host! Very nicely decorated.

Negative: Just to be aware that there is no lift (as I supposed is expected for an old mansion-castle). Stairs are not steep though and really beautifully renovated. We had no issues with small children.

Positive: The property is beautiful and has clearly been renovated to an extremely high level. We were the only guests staying at the property and our room on the top floor could not be faulted in any way. The facilities are excellent and breakfast and an evening meal (which we pre-ordered) were all very good. The village of Picquigny is ideally placed for visiting the many First & Second World War cemeteries that are in the area.

Negative: This will sound very rude, but sadly I did not learn French at school (50+ yrs ago!) and what very little I can speak is frankly inadequate. Unfortunately Laura & her partner did not have a very good command of English and as such what little interaction we did have with them did not really add to our stay. They are a most delightful couple and we wish them well in the upkeep of this beautiful property.

Summary: A lovely property, but being able to speak French is a definite bonus.

Positive: A truly amazing setting, beautiful rooms, a fantastic pool and one of the best breakfasts we had on our 3 week tour of France. The host Laura is also very helpful and has a lot of useful information left in the room.

Positive: Ver good room with all facilities included. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming (Laura’s typing speed on her translator was impressive). All in all a very nice stay. The included breakfast was very good. We did not use it, but there was a nice swimming pool.

Positive: Laura and Pierre were excellent hosts. They took great care of us in their beautiful house, which they have recently renovated. They served us drinks by the pool and a light snack in the evening and were an engaging couple who went out of their way to meet our needs. It was a great stay.
